Daily Listing Challenge with Group Promotion Thread - May 2024

Welcome to the May 2024 Daily Listing Challange and Promotion Thread

Hello! I’m Max from @MaxPringJewellery, and I’ll be hosting the May thread. Thanks so much to Susan @SusanBettyArt for looking after us so well during April.

It is a CHALLENGE thread which means that after listing you must visit ALL the other participants shops via their daily link AND ‘’ that listing in the shop .

The rules are outlined below. It does look a bit complicated but do join in because it is a great way to get valuable extra exposure for your shop. There will be plenty of friendly thread regulars who’ll help you with any difficulties and we do have a lot of fun and laughs along the way.

Firstly click on each participants ‘item link’ for that day - this will take you to the listing in their shop. Then click on the  just underneath price. Hearting the item will give it a brief appearance on the Folksy front page - so the item has more of a chance of getting seen (this is the main rule for joining in ).

Next share your item for the day on this thread so everyone can :heart:it for you. To do this go to the item in your shop and copy its URL at the top of the page (the line beginning with https: // folksy. com / items/). Then return to this thread, hit the blue reply button at the very bottom of this page. Next add your message and paste the link you copied - leave a space between your message and the link so it brings up a thumbnail of your item (Items can be a new listing or an existing/re-list, we don’t mind as long as it’s a different item each day).

You must be prepared to join in regularly throughout the month - missing the odd day or two is fine and of course joining in for part month is fine too, we understand not everyone can join in every single day, but please do not ‘post and run’

It’s great If you can promote a few others as well by tweeting or pinning items from the thread (just occasionally pick some items if you can) or you can create a #FolksyFriday collage and share it far and wide.

Let me know when you have a Folksy sale so we can add it to the tally, celebrate and happy dance with you.

I hope we all have a great May

It’s well worth checking out the ‘home page themes’ - they can be found on your dashboard under ‘improve your shop’ - use the tags and increase your chances of inclusion in gifts guides etc.

Morning all

Thank you for hosting this month Max @MaxPringJewellery

Well April ended with 2 beautiful days, actually sat in the garden with no coat on yesterday.

Getting to grips with the Cricut, just wish these machines would come with proper manuals. Joined the design space more expense! Something that is not made clear. Have gone for a monthly sub atm as presumably can pause at any time. If use a lot which I think I will need to will pay annually. You do not need the DS if just using the templates they offer but I am more likely to do my own. Not sure would use their things but you never know.

Today? Tidying my room as a tip, have piles of ‘stuff’, need something and then the avalanche happens. 2 cards to also sort.

Thank you Max for hosting this month…
Caroline @Caroleecrafts …I have watched all the cricut demos on tv and they whizz through things far too quickly and expect everyone to understand what they are doing. I am glad that I never invested in one. Good luck with yours !!
I have a neighbour popping up to buy 10 cards this afternoon.
Sadly not a folksy sale but it will be a good start to the month for me.
Starting this month as usual with a touch of purple glitter.

I’m sharing my hand crochet blanket which took over 200 hours to complete so it really is a labour of love,

Good luck all Sue x

It is is least dry this morning so we’re off to a Nation Trust property called Greys Court which has amazing bluebells and an ancient wisteria which should be flowering…and of course a tea room :coffee::cookie:.

Thought I’d share a favourite bag which I have just reduced.

Good morning everyone and happy 1st of May!
Thank you for taking over this month Max @MaxPringJewellery!
Happy birthday Pam @PCCrafts , hope you have a great one!
Welcome back Sharon @OhhhWhatAYarn and welcome to the thread Susan @MinpinTowers , also well done for finding the forum in just a day of opening your shop! :grinning:
Be prepared to need a lot of patience with the Cricut Caroline @Caroleecrafts , as much as I love it, I found it to be very erratic in terms of what is working and when, especially when it comes down to double functionalities like “print then cut” which I imagine you are very interested at. It can be really daunting at the beginning, but you will get used to it eventually x
I am very upset this morning, as they have come to cut the tree outside the house. We had no say on it unfortunately, as we rent, and although we did try to change our landlord’s minds, they unfortunately went ahead with it as the roots are damaging the ground underneath the garages.
A relist for today, with just a different main picture showing the last one made.

I would just like a manual that has sections so,if you want to do print and cut exactly how to do it. This one is all on an app but our iMac is too old to,p load onto there which would make it easier to,see what I am doing.

Have told Lee once the carpet and new door funds are replaced getting a new iMac and new iPad for me. He’s is moaning about his ipad but as technophobe he can have my old one as not spending money on someone who can just about switch it on!

Happy May Day everyone! Thank you Max @MaxPringJewellery for hosting the thread this month lets hope we all have a good month with plenty of visits from that elusive sales fairy.

I do sympathise Caroline @Caroleecrafts, I know that awful feeling so well as you try to get to grips with expensive new equipment - don’t worry you will master it in the end.

Happy Birthday Pam @PCCrafts - have a lovely day.

Welcome to the thread Susan @MinpinTowers and to Folksy - it’s a very nice place and you’ll always find friendly people ready to help if you need it.

Lovely to see you back Sharon @OhhhWhatAYarn and all other returnees. :wave:t3:

Sorry to hear about the tree being cut down Mina @theslothscavern - it’s like losing an old friend and the wildlife will miss it too.

Todays relisting is a stormy sea ACEO. Have a nice day everyone.

Hello,
I’m attempting to return for this new month after going missing in April. Long story but to shorten slightly, husband announced one morning that he couldn’t wee, off to A&E we went. 12 long and painful hours later ‘someone’ attempted to empty his bladder. 3 attempts later, lots more pain, too much blood ‘they’ managed to get a catheter in and admitted him to a ward. 6 hours later ‘someone’ from Urology saw him, said catheter wasn’t in right place, had a look ‘up there’ with a camera and then 3 more tries with no luck he had a ‘suprapubic’ one put in through his tummy. Hospital was an absolute shambles. The amazing staff that actually care seem far outweighed by those who don’t and I was sick to death of hearing how everything seemed to be someone else’s job so they couldn’t do it. He was sent home after a few days still with catheter in place having been given a couple of drainage bags and told he’d get an appointment ‘at some point’ to see a consultant. Anyway, I am so eternally grateful that his place of work offers subsidised BUPA insurance which we’ve thought of stopping paying into but not got round to as he’s now seen district nurses, a consultant about his kidneys and has a urology consultant app for next week. Not a letter, appointment or any other contact from NHS. I don’t know how they can send someone home from hospital without a clue as to what is going on, with no follow up and a tube coming out of their stomach! He’s only 40 years old. I can only hope they wouldn’t have sent an elderly person home in the same way.
We still don’t know for sure what’s causing the issue but doctors have assured him that they’re almost 100% certain it’s not cancer.
So, I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things and while I have nothing new to share I’ll hang around and love all your goodies if that’s ok.

Pinch and a punch, everyone. Happy May.
I’m sorry you and your husband have had such a dreadful experience of the NHS Louise @thestitchyroom. Very different from my recent experience, and that of my husband. I hope your husband gets well soon. X
Thank you @SusanBettyArt for last month and Max @MaxPringJewellery for taking over for this month. Let’s hope your dancing shoes get a lot of wear over the next four weeks!
Welcome Susan @MinpinTowers. Your crochet blanket is beautiful.
I feel quite ashamed that I am starting the new month with a relist - though a little comforted by the fact that I am far from alone. We have craft fairs coming up, so I hope to be incentivised to do some more making.

That is dreadful Louise. DH had something similar but saw the Doc first, consultant next day in Urorlogy, tests, etc etc, including cameras, biopsy. You name it he had it, he has an enlarged prostate but now under control and on medication to help. Could not complain as all done within a few days.

One problem since that time he now has to do tests for the hospital twice a year, these thankfully are done at the Doctors. Plus gets a telephone appt once the results are in.

Same happened with his eyes and the cataract surgery, he still has to see a consultant once a year. Standing joke at Royal Surrey that once they have you on their books, you never come off. When my sister was in there a few weeks ago, she said they had been working 24/7 on operations and exploratoriums since Covid in fact so up to date she got a colonoscopy appt in May which is not due until October!
