Morning everyone, and good luck at the festival @MinpinTowers !
Good morning - sunny and warm at the moment but apparently rain is on its way for the next few days.
Apologies that I have dropped off the thread but I have been busy (not 100% sure doing what!) and have temporarily (I hope) fallen out of love with felting so havent made anything in a while. However, I have ordered some new supplies which ususally gets me going again so hopefully I will be able to join in again next month.
In other news, my niece gave birth to a gorgeous baby boy (Henry David Neville) on thursday. Cant wait to meet him but think I will have to wait until later in July when my daughter is coming over from Belfast and then we will drive up together to see them.
Hugs to all that need them and hopefully be back soon.
Congratulations ![]()
Good morning everyone. Lots seems to be going on for everyone enjoy the fairs, treasure hunts etc. hope they all go well.
Lovely news about the baby.
We are going to tackle one of those big garden jobs we keep putting off weeding the long wall up our drive which has gone from floral opulence to weedy mess.
Just a realist for me apologies to those who have already seen this:
Good morning everyone. Happy weekend ![]()
Only 3 more weeks and 2 days at the day job and then it’s 6 weeks off - not that I’m counting down or anything ![]()
Good Morning everyone ![]()
Congratualations on the baby news Roz @OrchardFelts x
It’s all a bit horrible here at the moment. Mr DP’s Dad (who some of you will remember me talking about as he has led us a merry dance over the last few years) had a collapsed lung yesterday, a bit out of the blue. He’s refusing to go to hospital, so they have put him on end of life care at home. They’ve put him on morphine and said that it could be a matter of hours or a matter of weeks. Mr DP stayed overnight there last night but has come home now. I had no idea that they could put people on end of life care at home and then leave them to it. If he had no-one to stay with him, he would have just been on his own.
I will try to keep up with the thread as I think it will be a good distraction but if I drop out quickly, I apologise in advance x
My listing today is this little acorn:
3 sales to report please Mel @aquilacrafts x
Sarah @dotterypottery …that sounds dreadful…but I suppose if someone refuses to go to hospital or a hospice etc, then they cannot go against their wishes.
Sending hugs xx
Roz @OrchardFelts …I hope you get your mojo back soon…I think we all get moments like that xx
Oh Sarah @dotterypottery that sounds tough, hope you and Mr DP can get some help. GPs and the district nursing team should be supporting you and your FIL - appreciate it is difficult for everyone when someone refuses care. Thinking of you all x
Faved to here
Hi there
A sunny day today. Great for the festival/treasure hunt and any other things going on today!
Sorry to hear about your father in law and hope you can get some help to care for him.
Congratulaions on the new baby in the family, Ros @OrchardFelts
Here is a new listing from me today - a wedding card:
Two sales for me, Mel @aquilacrafts.
Oh Sarah @dotterypottery, that sounds absolutely dreadful sending hugs xxx
Afternoon everyone, it’s nice to see the sunshine again.
That’s lovely baby new Roz @OrchardFelts, I hope your mojo returns quickly, mines gone AWOL too! Perhaps it’s that time of year?
I’m happy to report a sale Mel @aquilacrafts!
Just a relist today as I haven’t made anything new for a while.
Afternoon everyone ![]()
Sending hugs Sarah @dotterypottery and hope you can get some additional care to help with your father in law xx
Mine for today
Sarah @dotterypottery, that’s awful. Most areas have a palliative care team who can be very supportive. Is there anything like that in your FIL’s area?
Just popping in with todays new listing.
Two-tone Green Triangle Beaded Earrings
@dotterypottery that’s really tough, I’m sorry to hear you’re going through that. I’m sure you’ve considered everything, but have you looked into support from Marie Curie or anyone like that? They can be really supportive for the family as well as the person being cared for. x
Good Day to All !
I’ve just listed this hanging decoration I made during the week. I posted a photo of the larger one I made last year for myself on Instagram and she seemed quite popular, so I made this smaller one to sell.
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend !
So sorry to hear about your f-i-l Sarah @dotterypottery
Yes, if a person is deemed to have ‘capacity’ their wishes are listened to and generally actioned. This does make it very hard on those who are caring for them though. End of life care can be provided at home and your GP should be able to arrange for visits from community nurses. Check out the NHS website for the 5 priorities of care …
I wish you and your family well at this very stressful time.
Afternoon all,
Thinking of you all Sarah @dotterypottery, and I do hope they manage to get some support for your FiL, and all of you x
