I take about £100 as a float. About half in notes (£5 are the best), and the rest as £1 and £2 coins. But it depends on your prices. If you only use multiples of £5 or £10; then you won’t need coins at all.
My recent event was unusual in that most people use cash (it’s well known for poor WiFi for card readers), so the coins just re-circulated through out the morning, and I didn’t run out at all. But I take the same float for a more typical event, where people are more likely to offer cards.
To get coins, we use cash to buy things locally and keep the change in a little box. My OH has been known to go to lots of different shops buying small things with £20 notes!!!
Good morning everyone. Another quick visit from me today as our friend is still staying with us. Just to echo what people have been saying about photographing items, I use a light box and would be lost without mine, I’m lucky because most of my makes aren’t too large and fit inside it.
It’s great to see that you’re all getting good sales at fairs etc. I’ve never had the confidence to do one but maybe I should give it a go.
I’m lucky enough to have a day light lamp that my sister brought me for my birthday. I’m still getting to grips with it but it’s really good in this greyness.
Good morning all…
Here is some Christmas kitsch to make you smile/laugh/cringe/want to rant about how Christmas has become too commercial - delete as appropriate …
Nic @NicHarman nooo keep Garvle goat tales away from the donks ! We had a cantankerous old donkey called Mushroom who was quite a local celeb. His people took him for walks to the shops on a leading rein , where he proceeded to try and bite as many people as possible. How I miss him.
Good morning. I’m back in the land of the living after 5 terrible weeks struggling with a chest infection. Its left me with a really bad cough
Just getting all my stock together to do a 2 week exhibition at the gallery so I’ll be back later to list and love
Mel @aquilacrafts I had 8 sales yesterday. Is it ok to add them to the tally?
Valerie
The blue disappeared quickly but looks like it is about to make a return
Glad to hear people are beginning to feel better. Sue @SueTrevor I am a big fan of taking a break and not pushing through I am also a small goals person setting myself realistic challenges so I can celebrate an achievement rather than feel overwhelmed by what needs to be done.
Good morning everyone it’s another grey cold day here. Roll on spring
Well done and glad the fairs all went well yesterday.
Today I have a millefiori necklace
Great to hear about successful fairs - well done Sarah @dotterypottery and Sharon @TheOldButton . Also well done to other non-Folksy sales… and Folksy sales! Speaking of which, I have 2 sales to report, Mel @aquilacrafts !
I’ve also been thinking about getting some kind of lighting or box light etc. Not sure what to get but might look into it. I seem to be buying too much stuff lately though, like a folding table for a fair coming up at the end of the month (other fairs I’ve been to have tables supplied). It should be useful for other fairs and things at home too. Also seem to keep buying craft supplies! Hopefully this fair will do well to make up for that!
Missed yesterday because we had friends coming over for lunch which was lovely. All caught up now.
Sending gentle hugs to those who need one.
It’s yet another relist today. I’m reluctant to make anything new because nothing is selling and I don’t have the space to store much more at the moment.
Hi Everyone,
I am a bit late today… it has taken me most of the morning to read and love all your items from yesterday and this morning! Healing hugs to those who need them and congratulations on successful fairs.
My listing today is warm chestnut fleece… you will probably see many colours popping up over the coming days!
Happy Crafting x
Afternoon all,
Good to hear that the fairs are going well, well done all involved
Welcome back Sue @SueTrevor - I have missed your colourful listings
Glad you are feeling a better Valerie @valerie, that’s an awfully long time to be suffering with a chest infection
I love my light box, especially in the winter with the short and gloomy days. - I made my own to see if it worked for me, using a large cardboard box, some white pillow cases and several spot lamps. Great if you make fairly small items. Had it for 2 years, and it is starting to look a bit battered now, I never got around to replacing it with a ‘real’ one - might put it on my Christmas list!
