Do you use Google+?

Hello Folks

I’m forever looking for new ways to promote. I’m using quite a lot of social media sites, but I keep over looking Google+ because I don’t really know much about it.
I was wondering if anyone else here was using it, and whether they could explain a bit about it.
I have a google nexus tablet which is geared up for everything google so I should really be making the most of it

Have a great Bank Holiday Monday  ( I’m busy laying laminate wooden flooring with the Hubby )

Hi Hazel @hazelrayfield

Thanks for your reply. I’m really excited about Google+. I can’t believe I’ve overlooked it for so long :relieved:
I’m reading about it now on the internet, and I never realised how much you could do with it.
As soon as I get to grips with it I would love to join the Folksy community

I’m also on Google+ but like you I don’t spend much time on there because I don’t fully understand it.

I also use google+ I use it like pinterst and you can post written only posts as well. I’m also part of the small folksy group.

But I’m also joined a number of other groups as well. I read their rules for each group first before posting within those groups make sure I obey so as not to get thrown out of those groups.

You don’t have to join groups if you don’t want to.

I’ve a number of people following me just like on Twitter and pinterst. I’m quite happy as quite a lot of my followers are non folksy people so I guess I’m showing Casing not just my own shop but Folksy as a whole to a newer larger market place… win, win situation.

I also notice whenever I post something onto google+ I then have a few extra views on that item.

Perhaps I should start using it a bit more seen as though we are getting closer to Christmas. I would like to be a bit busier than I was last year even though I have a lot of family commitments this year. I love been busy around that time of year.

We’re on it too but I really don’t know how to make the best use of it! I tend to just add a post when I add something new to any of our shops…

Here is our Google Plus page - https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/110928153593085231008/110928153593085231008/posts

Not sure why it is full of so many numbers…

The way I see G+ is a bit like having a facebook page, it’s not very personal but you view the posts people in your circle (think of them as your likers) in your time line and you make posts like you would on your FB page

The “communities” such as the folksy one on G+ I linked to above are similar to the “groups” you can join on FB.

People plus one +1 your posts same as liking on FB or favouriting on twitter for example

I don’t post there as often as I should but I do keep it in my rota when publizing an Art In Wax new project or event.

If you are on G+ add me to your circle and I’ll pop over and look at your page

Hope this helps a little

Hello

Well I’ve been tinkering about with Google+ all evening, and I quite like it. Not 100% sure I’m doing everything right, but I’m learning. I’ve added everyone with links on this thread. Pauline I couldnt get your link to work. :flushed:
I’ve joined the Folksy community too
Here’s a link to my profile. Hope it works.

Not sure why the link is so long. :relieved:

I have been on Google+ some time but I don’t use it very much, could someone tell me how to join the Folksy group on there please.

Paul

I’m on there as well - though possibly less than I am here! (I’m trying to cut down…)
Just had a look at my page… I have no clue how to find the folksy group anymore!

Here’s the link to the folksy group https://plus.google.com/communities/102547299987434126275

Once you’ve joined it you find it by

opening Google+

Hover your mouse over Home

look down the list for Communities click on that.

Then it will bring up all the different groups you’ve joined.

Then click on the Folksy one

Thanks Eileen.
