I wish I could make a living out of jewellery - what a dream !!! I used to do a silversmithing course and neither of the tutors who both had degrees in silversmithing and jewellery design as well as various other qualifications managed to make a living from it, hence the reason they had to become teachers. I’m sure that some people manage to make a living from it but honestly, I think there are probably more that don’t. I started as a hobby and used to craft fairs but got so fed up of spending my weekends standing around and being polite with no significant profit that I decided to give them a miss this year. They say you have to do lots of promoting which I am trying to do at the moment. However, when you have a full time job trying to find time to do it isn’t always that easy. Fingers crossed with Christmas around the corner, we will all get lots of sales !!

How are the Christmas sales for everyone? I’ve just re- opened my shop 2 weeks ago and have sold two things. Not a staggering amount I agree lol, but it does give me a little hope. I was thinking that my more original jewellery seems to sell within my friends so never gets to Folksy. My favourite thing is using owls in my jewellery. I love them!
