Not sure if this is the right place to do my notification.
I am having a jewellery sale prior to seeing my spinal surgeon consultant at the beginning of September.
If more major surgery is on the cards my shop will be closed for some time. After previous surgery it has usually taken a good year to recover. This time it may be multi spinal fusions on the cervical and lower lumber regions. A MRI check done last October has shown a dractic decline in stability according to the report sent to my G.P two weeks ago. Yes you read that right, the NHS is completely broken; 10 month waiting for an MRI to be locked at! Consequently an urgent appointment was made by the hospital for me to be seen by a particular spinal consultant surgeon. I am worried about what he is going to tell me!
So I thought I would start a sale for those who are organised and intend starting their Xmas shopping early or just fancy a treat for themselves as my shop may be closed for some time in the near future.
If you like something that’s not in the sale I am open to sensible offers for the jewellery only.
@DemelzaDesigns 10 months, that is dreadful. I hope everything goes well for you when you finally get to see someone. The waiting makes the worry so much worse for everyone involved. You have a beautiful shop xx
10 months for results of a test is a very very long time! I hope the consultations has the best outcome possible and get your worries away. Take good care of yourself! x
I have a brother with decades long debilitating back pain so I know how awful this can be. Fingers crossed this gets sorted for you. Do keep in touch and let us know how you get on.
Sending healing vibes and hugs to you …I hope that you can get some help and that if it results in more surgery that you are then able to continue with your beautiful work. xx
Wishing you well as you go for this appointment , that the consultant will make wise decisions as to what to do , and that any necessary surgery or treatment will take place quickly . These waits for scans and then even longer waits for results are so worrying . I see it a lot with my daughter who ends up using up the small amount of energy she has each day just chasing up hospital appointments and tests.
P.S. I love the name of your shop as I have a niece called Demelza and you dont hear of many Demelzas!
So dreadfully sorry to hear what you have been through and are still going through. I hope that you will get the help and care that you need. Best wishes for your appointment and for a good outcome xx
Thank you all for your best wishes, it’s made me cry. People I don’t know actually care. You all have no idea what it means to me.
I will keep you all informed as to what the outcome will be. I have already had three major spinal operations plus major emergency open brain surgery for an anyrism. All done within a ten year period. I would love to play and do Nanna things with my gorgeous 2 year old grandson soon!!!
My love to every single one of you. The Folksy community is ‘simply the best’.
So sorry you’ve had such a terribly long wait, I hope all goes well at your appointment and the consultant can offer something that can help. I watched my Mum suffer in terrible pain like yourself for years prior to her spinal fusions, I really do feel for you.
Scary long waits for sure, I waited 14 months for an ‘urgent’ cardiology appointment so can totally understand the worry.
Anyway, I’m sending blessings for a good outcome from your appointment and yes, this community is very special isn’t it. xx
Wishing you all the best and sending healing thoughts your way. Trusting that your treatment will be successful and that you’re able to give yourself plenty of time to heal. xx
Sorry you have been waiting such a long time.
Hopefully they can help and don’t leave you waiting too long for treatment and surgery sending you hugs x
Sending love Gail @DemelzaDesigns, I know what you are going through and when you are in so much pain the time waiting is awful.
My results from my last mri also took a year, my previous neurosurgeon didn’t have room to take me back on so they had to find another, then because things are advancing too quickly and a year had passed since the mri they had to do another one. I was told surgery was the only option for the cervical spine and it was planned for July but I called it off the week before. My first lumbar op went wrong and the second only put me back to pre op stage but I have a bone condition which may be preventing a successful outcome so I knew the chances of it working were very low, I’m now waiting until I have no choice.
I hope the consultant sees you quickly, you might get fast tracked with waiting so long for the mri results. Hoping it is not all bad news and the operations make things much better for you. If it wasn’t for my bone issues I would definately have taken the op , I know a lot of people who have had very successful spine operations and who are now living almost pain free. Hoping you get sorted quickly now and wishing you well if you decide to go ahead. X
