I’m not convinced that paying to boost your likes is a good idea. I’ve seen an experiment where someone boosted their post to find that all the new likes were hollow shells from the middle east with nothing on their walls, only thousands and thousands of likes. FB deny paying people to like posts but the evidence that they were doing so was pretty convincing. It was only one experiment though and may have been a set up to get youtube views (and therefore payment to the creator of the video). You can’t believe everything you see on the net!

I do however know one of my genuine fb friends who found her reach went down after paying to boost a post.

How was your experience of boosting Robyn @downwiththekids

ive only done it the once with a very small budget and got a few more likes and reached loads of people , i will try it again when i launch my website , if i get more sales from it then its a winner. I only tried as a few mates that run company’s do it and its pretty successful. trial and error i suppose . x

Hi everyone I have heard from one of our fellow folksy folks that unless you like a page from a personal timeline it does not count in your total number of likes. I didn’t know this and so as I have liked a few of your pages as my page www.facebook.com/madeatnumber29 I will go back and like you again as Marie Blundell.

I paid to advertise my page for a week, I got more likes but my reach never increased, the only people seeing my posts are the ones who genuinely came across the page themselves. So I wouldn’t bother paying again. I think you can increase your likes by posting a variety of different things, like photos/status as well as links from other sites pinterest / twitter.

But again increasing reach doesn’t mean people will interact or buy anything but its better than not being seen!!

I have a Facebook page. It’s That’s Sew Chic…not sure how to share a link on here as am new. Please pop by and like if you do actually like. I have more items on Facebook than on here at the mo as shop only set up 2 days ago. Thanks x

Stephanie you are correct they are called ‘Click Farms’

Groups of people siting at computers manly in India but there are now Click Farms I the USA.

They get paid to click onto your facebook page but they are not real likers and in fact in the end it will cause your page to been seen even less.

Did no one see the whole investigative programme about it on TV?
