Jan Thanks for that - I couldn’t remember what that button was called to tell Carol @CarolMadeThis and couldn’t find anything on my Facebook page to show me what it was. xx
Hi Thank you @HandcraftedbyPicto I have a call to action button but it is on the bottom right of my cover photo. The blue one on the left stands out much more, but now I know what it is I can explore a bit more.
I find sharing your page posts in groups really helps. I’m in about 20 various groups for selling knitting or handmade items. My page has 1354 likers and last weeks reach was 7508. I’ve had quite a few folksy sales recently from facebook and for the past three months I’ve had order after order through Facebook (not through Folksy) and currently have my ‘order book’ closed as I’ve so many to catch up on. It has taken me a long time to get there though and it doesn’t mean it will carry on like this.
Thats really impressive! I think my catagory is saturated though, the fb pages are full of jewellery especially, and an awful lot is imported manufactured, and it gets a lot of coverage, leaving handmade in the shadows. But, yes, you have to just keep plugging away, I actually don’t do so much jewellery now because of this.
Unfortunately, like everything it takes time to build an audience.
I have a good reach on my FB page Rare Notions by Phiona Richards and I get a steady stream of likers each week. I haven’t really promoted my Folksy shop as I have another shop that is linked to it.
I find it is important to both like and then look at other people’s pages on a regular basis (like their posts, comment and share) otherwise they seem to disappear or perhaps they don’t post regularly.
FB is always changing how it works. As for missing posts I have found that you need to “like” the page as a person and as your business page. Once you have done that you can choose to see your posts from your choice of pages.
To do this, make sure you are on your personal page, type in a page you are following in the search bar, then hover over the LIKE button. This will give you 2 options see posts as default (which I believe is random) or see them at the top of your newsfeed.
I hope this helps a few people.
Thanks for that info Jan… I had assumed that was another thing I’d have to pay for and hadn’t explored it… Am now taking advantage
