Fairs? Any advice?

Hi I have been researching into doing craft fairs and thinking of maybe starting them next year. I live in South Wales in a mainly working class area and I was wondering if it would be better to sell the items I now make or to make a cheaper range of products to sell. Thanks for all your help. Nat
