Another one sitting in the garden enjoying the sunshine - not sure I’ll get much done today. Had book club last night so have a new book to read - think that might be my activity for the day.
Having worked with vulnerable adults who often lash out, I know that those working with such people have very little (if any) leeway on protecting themselves. It OK to be bitten, hit, hair pulled etc etc but not ok to use even a small amount of force to prevent it from happening! I know they need to be safeguarded but sometimes so do the workers!
Susan @SusanBettyArt - another fabulous painting. I always look forward to seeing your paintings of Scotland. I know it probably sounds bizarre to some but they are so Scottish! - it reminds me of my time living in Northeast Scotland when I was first married - happier times!
Another scarf from me - these have been selling reasonably well so thought I might make up a stock of them in various colour ways for some craft fairs later in the year - apologies if they get boring!

Just curious, were you living up Lossiemouth way by any chance? My parents live not far from there, they moved up there prior to retirement as my dad had a lot of family in the area. Really beautiful… in the summer

Lovely sunny day here. I need to do some gardening. When I say gardening I mean containering as I haven’t actually got a garden.

Morning all I’ve finally managed to get here today.
After I spent all that time photographing my knitting yesterday with all the problems that caused and I tried to download them this morning and my chromebook has lost the connection to my phone and I can’t seem to get it back. My IT director is going to look at it this afternoon for me.
Brian had an appointment to see a physio yesterday afternoon and he mentioned my problems to her and she said for me to phone the surgery to make an appointment to see her. I did this and I’m seeing her next Friday afternoon.
Today I have a relist of a cardigan as I couldn’t get to the photos for the new things.

Thanks so much Roz. That’s such a fine thing to say…you’ve made my day. I’ve been working on my own style but retaining the spirit of Scottish colourists. Mercy buckets and a big hug to you :green_heart:

Afternoon all,
Finally got the new stuff photographed and listed, although I’m a bit annoyed with myself. One of the Mother’s Day cards I finished, photographed and edited, was ready to be listed and I’ve only just noticed that I’ve put the background paper on upside down. I can’t believe I didn’t notice earlier. :rage:
Anyway, here’s one that isn’t upside down!

Absolutely! We have very little we can do. We’ve asked for a harness for the girl to keep her in her wheelchair (she is very bendy and can reach pretty much anywhere) which would give us half a chance but that has to all be approved by the council (who we’re contracted to) and the parents. The parents we know won’t have a problem but the council are next to useless but as you say, the moment there’s a mark on a child or injury there’s big investigations. I report absolutely everything, a child gets on the bus with a red mark on the forehead for instance, I ask the parents if they know about it and it gets reported to my employer straight away. You’ve always got to cover your own butt. My employer has offered to chuck this particular run back to the council but at the moment they don’t have another run for me and my driver to do which means no wages. One will come along but the question is when. The girl leaves school in July so we’ve had a chat and decided to try and ride it out.

@feelfeltfound - we were in Peterhead, north of Aberdeen - not the most picturesque place in the world but the surrounding area was beautiful.

I have been good and managed to layout 2 scarves this morning - they are now sitting, very soggy, on the bench ready for felting but the sunshine has won … they will still be there tomorrow!
