A quick relist from me today as I am busy putting together the final few things for tonight’s stall. It’s at a local taphouse. I had a good evening there last year but other crafters who did a different night said that their’s was quiet. So who knows! I think that it’s largely a case of whether people turn up in the first place. If they do, when they have got a drink or two inside them they tend to spend.
Morning everyone
I was wondering about you Helen @PocketfulCreations I’m so glad it’s good news about the baby
Happy birthday to your husband Kim @KBCreations and happy, healthy and long retirement
That trip sounds absolutely amazing Roz @OrchardFelts I hope you have time to post some sunny photos to us whilst you’re away
Susie @islamaymakes I’m afraid that I find it too stressful dealing with lost packages and just refund or replace. Often the package will return to me after a few months, so I know they genuinely haven’t recieved the parcel. I did put in a claim many years ago for a lost expensive package and just recieved stamps in return. I know its wrong of me to ignore but it saves my sanity.
For those of you concerned about not making sales, just stick with it. I’ve been doing this for almost 40 years although different things at different times and I still don’t have the answers. I used to do several fairs a week and I was so happy when selling on the Internet came along I was getting so fed up with lugging my wares around and it filled the gap financially. However, this month has not been good or infact this year hasn’t been generally either. I ought to get back to doing a few fairs every year. Covid put a stop to them and I haven’t bothered to apply for any since apart from the one I did on Sunday which was successful.
Morning everyone
Lovely to hear your update Helen @PocketfulCreations have been wondering how it’s all been going - glad the little fellow has managed to stay put for a bit longer. You must all be getting so excited xx
Roz @OrchardFelts your road trip sounds wonderful, look forward to some piccies when you return.
Happy birthday to your hubby Kim @KBCreations and hope he feels well enough to enjoy his day xx
I hope the package saga gets sorted soon @islamaymakes and you manage to track it down or get compensated xx
1 sale for the tally please Anna @Fififoxi
Hello everyone.
Well done Wendy @CraftyNature and Helen @PocketfulCreations I’m dancing for those sales (and lovely to hear that ‘all’s well’ on the ‘imminent arrival’ front Helen).
Wow what an adventure Roz @OrchardFelts it sounds very exciting.
Good luck with your Post Office saga Susie @islamaymakes - no-one there ever seems to know what is going on and some of the workers could do a with refresher course on ‘customer relations’. Having said that I have heard posting to Northern Island can be problematic since Brexit. I suppose with the sheer volume of mail the P.O. process we should expect the odd hiccup.
'll be back later with a listing - meanwhile have a good day everyone.
Good afternoon all,
Just loving and dashing today… out for the afternoon and already running late
Here’s mine for today
if it wasn’t so annoying, that would be hilarious @islamaymakes
Just completed my tax return (2022-23) and updated my accounts (2023-24) - Looking at sales apr - nov both years, while total sales figures for markets and sales in the gallery are pretty much the same over the same period for both years, online sales have plummeted, this year I’ve only taken 35% of the amount I took over the same period last year.
Another sale for me Anna @Fififoxi. That’s four this month. I am very pleased.
Faved to here…
Yes indeed Brenda ! I’m doing my best to keep a stiff upper lip and plough on regardless
Lovely to hear from you Helen @PocketfulCreations good to hear the little one hasn’t arrived yet. Exciting times for you all. xx
Roz @OrchardFelts Sounds like you’re going to have the time of your life. Be lovely to see your daughter again. Enjoy your adventure. xx
Happy birthday and retirement to your hubby Kim @KBCreations Hope he’s able to enjoy his day.
No listing today. Have kept up with all the loving. xx
Happy dancing again Jane @Beadseedz for your sale - as a group we’re inching towards that ‘fabulous 400 sales’ mark!
It’s been a slow year for online sales for many of us and what Roz @OrchardFelts was saying seems to support what was suspected - even so her decline of 2/3rds in ‘online’ sales value is a bit shocking. But bad times do not last forever and I think if you can keep a business going then you’re in a good position when things pick up - especially if other competitors don’t last the course.
I wonder if it’s worth thinking about smaller value items that might appeal to shoppers looking for cheaper alternatives? The irony is the expensive luxury end of the market often performs better during ‘economic downturns’ and as ‘art and handmade items’ are often seen as ‘an indulgence’ or ‘luxury’ Folksy sellers might get some benefit … well here’s hoping that’s the case anyway.
Todays listing is a little dangly parrot.
2 sales to report Anna @Fififoxi
What you say about smaller value items seems to work at markets & at the gallery - although sales in total haven’t dropped there has been a definite swing towards the smaller value items. Doesnt seem to work online though … possibly due to postage costs pushing the price up.
Is anyone else getting ‘400 bad request’ error when tying to click through to peoples items to love them? It’s been happening to me for a few days now, not all the time, just sometimes, and it takes 2 or 3 attempts sometimes.
I’ve cleared cache/cookies etc. so it’s not that.
For me, I have sold more items recently but lower cost. For example, I have sold 32 items so far this month. November last year I sold 20, but I took more money. My revenue is about 20% less.
I only sell on Folksy, I don’t do markets etc.
Well done Roz @OrchardFelts happy dancing towards the 400 mark - only 1 more sale gets us over the line!.
That’s so funny - let’s hope she likes her nickname!
