Good morning everybody.
Mel @aquilacrafts we had a non-interventionist dentist for years. He did the minimum and we both had lovely teeth. He suddenly died and was replaced by a very keen interventionist who proceeded to wreck our teeth. Though the surgery were very careful not to say anything, he left under a cloud. Please don’t let the same happen to you!

Thank you so much everyone for your kind words - you have made me feel so much better. It really is like a big warm hug from the group and I really appreciate it.
I will wait with interest to see what the response is to my email but I think I’m fairly decided to try my husband’s surgery instead. It seems like this dentist is one that is more keen to intervene and I’d rather find one who isn’t.

Morning everyone. Oh dear Mel @aquilacrafts teeth trouble seems to be the order of the day today and it is strange that ‘over dentistry’ seems to be coming up a lot - I’m not sure how they regulate the industry but I do wonder how trained professionals can seem to differ so much on the amount of work someone needs - it does seem rather odd and rather worrying! Our dentist retired during the pandemic and we only have ‘temporary cover’ now until he is replaced - I gather this is the norm for many people.

I’m glad you’re getting another opinion @aquilacrafts Mel. That definitely sounds excessive. Coming from the NHS, it’s mostly about money these days… Dentist in question has a certain amount of ‘quotas’ to fill - pun not intended!

I think it would kill rather than cure Brenda. I try to walk 2 miles a day which will hopefully keep me fit . I think its enough at my age
