Lucky escape.
My brother phoned me today. He was involved in a motor accident on Monday. He was driving along at 40mph when all of a sudden on the opposite side of the road, a van pulled out to try to pass a motorbike and couldn’t make it in time. He hit my brother’s car head on and it turned over and they landed upside down. He is 78 and his wife is 80…
Luckily , they were both able to crawl out unaided and were taken to hospital but released with only cuts and bruises…They don’t know if the bike rider is OK as he got taken off in an air ambulance. The policeman at the scene advised my brother to go and buy a lottery ticket…
Omg Brenda, what an awful experience. Glad they both got out with only cuts and bruises x
Oh, my!! Brenda that’s awful. Thank goodness they’re ok. I just hope the biker is ok. I’ll bet he’ll be nervous about driving again
I will phone my brother tomorrow to check on him…they could easily get delayed shock, especially being elderly…thanks everyone x
Brenda, how awful, im glad they escaped with just cuts and bruises. I hope he took the polocemans advice and has bought a lottery ticket and that the motorcyclist is ok too.
@WestcountryCreations Thank you Yeah, I do find Facebook really unintuitive and frustating at times, but my friends who sell tell me it’s such a good place to get sales that I feel I have to persevere with it! Also, I love your little white dove!
Congratulations @BlueCatMumDesigns!
@teabreaks Oh gosh, that sounds terrifying! Glad they both made it out ok
Pendant from me today x
Oh my gosh Brenda @teabreaks glad they escaped so easily.
Wow they must have been really shaken up after that. Thank goodness they were both ok.
Flipping heck Brenda @teabreaks how absolutely terrifying! Thank goodness they seem to have come out mostly unscathed [hope the motorcyclist is ok] what a terrible shock!
Natalie x
Gosh they were so lucky!!!
Caught up to here. Oh my goodness Brenda @teabreaks what a shock for your brother and his wife. Always a worry with delayed shock, but fingers crossed they will be fine and the bike rider recovering too.
Stunning stained glass fan lamp @VioletFlameGlassArt Gorgeous card today Georgina @GeorginaCrawfordArt Fabulous painting Stile in the woods Pamela @PamelaWestArt - would love to be there right now.
Glad to hear your trip to the dentist went well @feelfeltfound I read with interest the details regarding your undecided customer. My son does signage and here’s what he has to navigate around at times. New customer arrives, wants a shop sign, has no idea what to call his shop, no logo, no colour scheme nor font in mind, absolutely nothing and when asked “When do you need this,” replies “Tomorrow morning, because we are having a grand opening.” Now you need all the fairies you can muster for that one. Was that a one off incident, I hear you ask? I’m afraid not.
@teabreaks I think if we had a whole that size and we lived next to that field our dogs would think they have gone to heaven… they would be running amok in it.
Mind you… a few years ago we replaced our back fence and for a few days had nothing there but the concrete bases. We back onto a wooded pond area that is fenced the other side… the two dogs we had at that time would just sit there looking through the gaps, we had to tell them ‘yes’ they could go through for a sniff and a forage
Happy anniversary alison
Scary photo brenda @teabreaks - hope they are ok when you speak to them
Scary stuff Brenda @teabreaks! Hats off to them for getting themselves out unaided, hope they are ok tomorrow and have no after-effects, and that the biker is ok.
Happy anniversary Alison @BlueCatMumDesigns.
A belated welcome to the thread Angela @FluxandFlowJewellery.
Love the lamp Maddie @VioletFlameGlassArt.
Happy anniversary, Alison @BlueCatMumDesigns
Oh my word, Brenda @teabreaks . A mixture of shock and relief. Wow, I’m so glad your brother and his wife escaped such a horrific accident. It could have been a different outcome. I hope the bike rider is going to be OK. The photo really shows how very lucky your brother and wife are.
All loved up to here. Goodnight all
Crikey!! Brenda @teabreaks what a lucky escape they had!!! & crawled out too!!!
Thank you Brenda, Rachel @FlyingCheeseToastie, Mel @aquilacrafts, Marion @westcountrycreations for your wedding invite comments. My press is a privilege Marion, not only does it look beautiful, it prints beautifully, it’s a pleasure to use. Li’l Distractions are heart melters aren’t they.
Loved to here…
Ha ha that sounds familiar @HeartToSoulCards, Many moons ago I had a temporary job engraving names on pens and a guy wanted his grandson’s name engraved on one. He didn’t know if it was spelled Steven or Stephen yet expected me to know and to just get on with it. He got very agitated and started shouting as he needed it for a Christmas gift!
What’s the expression… either do something or get off the pan? Well the good news is that my hesitant customer finally did something, I made a really quick change I’d agreed was ‘in scope’, sent her a photo and fully expected another mind change, but she was good as gold and bought it
She also asked if she could put a deposit on one of the other items she’d been circling to reserve it for when she gets paid next month. As she has actually bought something I said I’d hide it for now without the need for a deposit (it wasn’t exactly flying off the shelf anyway)… if she doesn’t, no harm done.
Upshot is one sale to report please @MaxPringJewellery.
Someone mentioned the heavy rain, it was mega heavy last night and I think it has created pressure and dislodged our blocked drain out the back - judging by the sludge (thankfully just from sink and washing machine) exploded all over the patio. Need to clean it up (yuk!) but glad I didn’t give in and pay anyone to come out to fix it - happy days!
Morning all.
Craft room this morning, grocery delivery and helping Lee clear out and tidy the shed! Spiders and creepy crawlers, will be itching for a week!
Brenda that is horrific, says a lot though for the safety of cars now. Keep an eye on them as shock can happen after an event. Hugs
