Folksy 365 - Daily Listing Challenge Thread - FEBRUARY 2019

Hi Brenda.
Just thinking that maybe you should phone up your provider to see how they worked out this massive hike in price. They may have looked at your whole year usage and divided it up properly , but they may not have and just estimated it ! I have phoned up and renegotiated the monthly Direct Debit ,as I thought it was ridiculous and they put it down. I think they like to make you pay more than you actually owe so that you are in credit and have your money!

Happy February everyone - let’s hope it’s a good one!

Thanks Max @MaxPringArtAndCrafts for keeping us on track for another month. Hope you were pleased with your assignment when you submitted it. How many more to do now?

We woke up to some snow here, but not enough to cause problems. Most seems to have thawed already.
Sorry to hear about the increase in your fuel costs Brenda @teabreaks . Certainly worth phoning them as Caroline suggests, it does seem a big jump. My daughter found the book ā€˜the secret’ last night while sorting out some packing, so I had a rather late night as I couldn’t resist starting it!

No new items to share at the moment - the thought of going into my ā€˜photography studio (the conservatory) at the moment early isn’t appealing

I was just Ā£8 in debit so I think the increase is very high…especially as last year they put it DOWN and I am not using more than I did then…To be honest, I find it too traumatic phoning these large companies and always wish I hadn’t done it when I do. They talk in jargon. I don’t know how a lot of people manage. I consider myself intelligent but…

Evening - a bit late with my listing today. It has put me out of my stride as our 2 of our kids schools were closed due to the snow, followed by 2 sent home from work. It was lovely them all coming into my studio to say hi, but just lost my focus.

Hope your all keeping safe and warm.

So much snow here this morning! Just a light sprinkling when we went to bed last night but wasn’t supposed to come to much more, by 6.30 this morning it was thick! and continued to snow all afternoon. Whilst I missed catching up with a friend today the children were thrilled as they got a day off school! Hoping it’s gone tomorrow as I have things I need to do! Have loved and pinned all your lovely listings, here is mine for today. Have a lovely evening, I’ve been doing dry January so it’s a big glass of wine for me tonight!!

Loved to here.
Yes, @cariadcrafts11 , I managed to get the Felix from the petrol station along the road, so at least the cat will be happy.
Indeed @PocketfulCreations, we did get quite a lot of snow, as seen on TV. The problem was that it wasn’t forecast. The Met people said we would get rain in Cornwall, with the snow starting further up country. They were wrong, so we were even more unprepared than usual.
It is starting to melt here now, but I see other parts are now badly affected. Stay safe everyone.

evening folks, yay happy dancing for sales Lynn and Deborah  :dancer:

well I had to wait 40 minutes for the bus this morning but all was fine after that, home safe warm and snuggled under a shawl now  nothing planned for the weekend except a trip to the post office in the morning, snow is melting here so hopefully it will be pretty much gone

Fingers crossed for the house Roz @OrchardFelts and a start date for your job soon, shame about Dublin xx

It’s a shame I don’t live any nearer . I would come round and rant on the phone for you! It is very stressful . Could Kelly do it ? or could you email your concern ? That might be easier .Take care .

LOL…Kelly hates using the phone and if it rings, she hands it to me…I am quite good at ranting…got A Ā£30 REBATE last week from the gas board because I made a complaint but I have limits…just getting to talk to a human on the phone took me THREE phone calls…it was a nightmare…I shall just pay , with the knowledge that if I over pay then I will be in credit and they will eventually put the price down again. I know that if I phone they might put it down but then re-adjust it again in future months…
I mentioned it to the engineer today and he just shrugged and said that everything was going up. I hate technical things too…the engineer said that I needed new batteries in the wall thermostat…No one told me I would need to put batteries in it…I didn’t even notice a flashing icon. Anyway he did it for free…sigh…
One of those days, the internet kept going down (weather?) and the toilet seat broke off at the hinge. Luckily Ihad one upstairs and was able to replace it but my hands are not good…so it took ages to loosen and undo them…all done now…

@NOfkantsCurios So jealous, all we get is rain! Thought we might get snow on Sheppey last night, but no…:cry::cry:

@TheCornishHare Perfect weather for them, although it sounds like it mostly went to you southerners, only have a little leftover snow from Tuesday here. Love the sheep too.

@OrchardFelts Shame about the Dublin trip, but good news about finding a suitable new place, the outhouse sounds perfect, hope you manage to get it.

@teabreaks Could you email them, I find that easier if it’s possible! They hiked ours up a lot one year, but Mr Grumpy growled down the phone at them! That worked! I’ll lend him to you if you like😊
They had guesstimated ours, so it’s definitely worth looking into. Makes me sick the amount they charge! Good luck, let me know if you want to borrow Mr G. :joy::joy:

All loved and pinned to here! Out of interest, what do you all prefer, having your items pinned or tweeted, and if pinned, what group is the best? Obviously I suppose it’s Folksy 365, but just wondered…
@ChrisStoneArtist, would love to have seen you sliding, was Thumper there to keep you up? Good job you can feed the cat, they’re dodgy when hungry!
@OrchardFelts Good luck with the house, sounds great!
@MaxPringJewellery enjoy your weekend, you’ve earnt it and thanks for running the thread again.
Forgot to say, I think the therapy is starting to make me a bit better, I managed to go to the local art society meeting last night, all alone, I was terrified at first, but such a lovely crowd, like me, totally eccentric and barking mad! Brilliant crowd, so glad I went. Some wonderful artists too, some professionals, some amateurs, a good mix. Had to say, because it’s the first time I’ve gone anywhere on my own for about two years! Take care all, have a good weekend xx
