Folksy 365 - Daily Listing Challenge Thread - May 2021

Morning all I hope you are all well. It’s nice and sunny here in Oswestry but still a tad chilly. I’ll be off for my short walk (or marathon according to my legs and back) shortly.

That’s exciting Lynn @erkinwald a new tumble dryer. We have a tumble dryer Joss @XStitcherJoss which we use when it’s wet out but we also have a dishwasher which was in the kitchen when we moved in,but we’ve never used it. My son uses it to store his collection of glasses.

Today I have the last of the bag charms, this time a green one

Couldn’t live without my tumble dryer, but I’ve never had nor wanted a dishwasher, so I’m only a half dinosaur ha ha… :grinning:

Thank you to all well wishers re my 2 and 8 and wishing well back to everyone who has their own to deal with.

It’s my own fault as started with sore wrist and elbow - which I of course ignored and eventually became clear was coming from shoulder so now forced to take notice. Apparently working with your arms out from your body particularly if you have them raised causes it - I of course was doing both but thought was ok as only working less than an hour a day.
If I was doing beneficial exercise an hour a day I’d expect a positive result so no idea why I didn’t think it would also work the other way round

I’m retreating into ludditism as used to use a dishwasher and tumble drier but in this house the 1970s kitchen isn’t built for a dishwasher and as it’s the best kitchen I’ve ever had not prepared to break it up to fit one. Now don’t have a day job have been able to go back to drying clothes outside so tumble drier is gathering dust - also sick of pulling it out every second week to see if it’s included in a recall!.

Morning all.

Regarding dishwashers and tumble dryers, I couldn’t be without my dishwasher - it changed my life! When we bought it we only had room for one extra appliance, so I chose a dishwasher over a tumble dryer, as I knew it would make the most difference to every-day life. More recently, when our washing machine finally gave up the ghost, we replaced it with a washer-dryer. The idea was to use the dryer when it was too wet or cold to dry things outside, as I hate using the clothes horse. In reality, so few things say on their label that they can be tumble-dried, I only ever use it to dry towels and bedclothes, and only then when they can’t be dried outside - so it hasn’t really helped much and I’m often still lumbered with a clothes horse taking up space

Hope you’re having a lovely day at the beach Natalie @NOfkantsCurios, and finding lots of fossils.

All caught up to here. A new purse from me today.

Afternoon everyone. I chose a tumble dryer. I have a washer dryer and it takes too long to tumble dryer stuff, so I have a separate tumble dryer in my craft room lol

Afternoon. I have a dishwasher, which I wouldn’t do without. I used to have a stand alone tumble drier and it was brilliant, but when we got a new kitchen I got a washer/drier, I hate it with a passion, if I dry anything in it, it is really creased, so I just use it for drying towels
Just had a lovely walk on the sea wall, it’s really warm in the sunshine :sunny:

Enjoy the rest of your day everyone

Congratulations to all of you who have had sales…

I have been the victim of a scam. My printer needed replacing; was acting up and started to print blank pages, lots of errors etc., So I saw a company online selling exactly the same one. Their advert was in the middle of well known shops, like Argos and Curry’s, and I was so pleased, as they were offering a discount. Once I had purchased the printer I got an email straight away, saying that they had received my order, and it would be delivered on the 28th of May. So, I kept checking and tracking, and a few days ago the website disappeared. Tried phoning them, and the line was dead - then looked on Trust Pilot, (See below) - (my review is quite far below others now) only to find others, like me, who had become their latest victim!!! My bank have stopped my debit card. Just feel embarrassed to be conned in the first place, but at least I will know for future purchases.

Good Morning

Just back from teaching my morning yoga class and making use of the sunshine to take some photos.
I’m super busy making macrame rainbows as I have a stall at a real “live” craft fair coming up in a couple of weeks.
Lots of lovely makes as always to browse through. Loving your owl necklace @DeborahJonesJewellery . Well done @SueTrevor for getting lots more followers on Instagram , your work is lovely .

A new rainbow listing from me today. Iv’e discovered recycled sari silk which I just love working with. it adds so much texture with the slight frayed edges. I’m also experimenting with adding glass beads , which I think works well .

Thank you. Sorry to hear about the scam and hope bank recovered the money - is easily done, I nearly fell for one the other week, I think they track what you’re desperately looking for and then magically claim to have it available at a price you’re willing to pay. Thanks for the heads up.

Bet the house renovations will be amazing and well worth it when finished - something to look forward to.

Afternoon everyone,
I hope your having a lovely day at the seaside Natalie @NOfkantsCurios
Sorry to hear you’ve been scammed SallyAnn @thegreetingscardshop I hope you manage to get a new printer soon.
I have both a dishwasher and tumble dryer in my tiny kitchen and honestly couldn’t live without either. I saved up for the 1st dishwasher by doing a few carboots, I do feel everything is clean when it comes out. Tumble dryers have improved enormously since they 1st came out, I put nearly everything in it, obviously I peg outside for the fresh air when I can. When we 1st got the tumble dryer my children were teenagers and they started doing their own washing in pairs by themselves, another added bonus.

Sorry to hear this SallyAnn but don’t feel embarrassed - the scammers are so devious. I fell victim to APP scam a couple of years ago and long story short transferred £3k to scammers from my bank account. Afterwards when I explained to people what had happened I felt so embarrassed but they use such clever techniques. It left me feeling very vulnerable for a while too. I was one of the lucky ones though and did get my money back although it was quite a few weeks before I knew I had. Try not to take it personally x
