Google analytics 4 - how to enable data collection

Hey, I need some help! I’m trying to update my google analytics from universal to GA4 and am completely stuck on how to enable data collection from my Folksy shop. I cannot find anywhere a very clear, step by step of how to add my google analytics tag (gtag.js). I’m supposed to add it to the header of every page of my site (?) but there are no very specific instructions of how to actually do this. As anyone started this process yet/or understands what you have to do?
Thanks, Mandie

I don’t think Folksy is configured for us to update to GA4. There was a discussion about it within the team captains group - I’ll go ask them again and see if anyone has a work round.

Great, thank you. It changes over next year but the it says the two can run in tandem (was trying to get ahead of the game!).

@SashaGarrett is right, at the moment Folksy can only accept UA tags.

Doug replied to a query of mine a few weeks ago, and said they have it on the to do list.

Hello, is there any update on this please?
I’m trying to add a GA4 measurement ID but it’s not being accepted. Is it still on the to-do list?

It is on the to do list but I’m afraid we won’t have chance to look at it until next year (UA tags will stop working at the end of July though, so we know it needs to be done before then).

Just tried to set up the new GA but folksy isn’t accepting the new tag. July is coming round fast. Has any work been done on this yet?

I’ve been totally avoiding updating my google analytics as it looks rather complicated.

I don’t fully understand how to use it. I’m sure it does a whole lot more than I know.

I’m not sure Google Analytics 4 is accepted by sites such as this yet. I know Etsy doesn’t accept it yet so I doubt it will here. It’s pretty straight forwards if you have a website.

Hey all  I’m pleased to say we’re starting to work on this. It could take a few weeks to work through all the upgrade steps but we’ll let you know when it’s done.

Thank you Aaron.

That’s great, thanks Aaron

I have tried looking into it as I keep gettting emails saying it ends July but to be honest it looks really complicated to figure out, will have to put a day aside for all these things I need to sort.
I have been updating Google with business though and now show up on google maps, spent hours last night adding more photos to my google
