Google anayltics

OK I need to ask, does anyone know how to link you shop via google analytics, in particular adding the tagging code?
I have my account set up and its showing my folksy store but it says

No data received from your website yet.

To start collecting data, make sure that your website is tagged using the Measurement ID: G-XXXXXXXXX

so I copy it and paste it into my shop settings but my account says “please check your settings as some of them appear to be incorrect”!

I can’t for the life of me see why or where anything is wrong. It’s driving me nuts. Has anyone else done this and got it to work, if so how?

Unfortunately Folksy requires the OLD version of google analytics that had UA numbers rather than the new version which has G numbers. I think there is a work around but I’m not sure what it is (and to be honest I haven’t looked at my google analytics in years).

You may have to set it up then email Folksy admin the codes. Perhaps they will put it on. I have my own website and I had to do it that way to get linked. I may be wrong, but it’s worth asking.

Hi!
So the UA number is being retired but alot of websites haven’t updated to this yet, the new one is GA4.
On your analytics account, if you don’t see a Tracking ID, you have a Google Analytics 4 property. (GA4 properties do not have a Tracking ID.)
If you need a Tracking ID (i.e. an ID that begins with “UA-”), you will need to create a Universal Analytics property instead.
GA4 properties cannot revert.

There’s lots of help on the google support page, that talks you through it.
