I wonder if anyone can help. I’ve been a member of the Folksy Shop Group on Facebook for years and have always been able to share my things without filling out a sales form. Now, all of a sudden, it won’t let me post, I can only put things for sale. How do you turn this off so that you can just share anything?
How weird. I just had a look at the group and everything looks the same as usual to me. I hope someone can help you.
I’ve googled it and it said to go to the three dots and dispensable the sales thing but for some reason I haven’t got that option. I love being part of the group and now I can’t join in unless I fill in a sales form - these always annoy me because you can’t sell something for £4.99 - you always have to round it up to £5. Why?
Seems to be working again now and the sale facility button is back. Facebook is sometimes a complete mystery

Hi Martine,
I’ve had the same problems with FB recently. I can’t share a post in any group if I put a link to my shop in the listing, it just sends it for review. So now I share it saying ‘details in comments’, share it then put the shop link in the comments below and so far they haven’t picked up on it. Give it a try see if it works for you.

I’ve only just seen this! I’m an admin for the group & can confirm we haven’t changed anything in the settings for the group that should have changed how you are able to post! Can only assume FB was either having a funny 5 minutes or they are messing with how you can post again 
I’ll keep an eye on it

Thanks Lou - it seems to have sorted itself now - no idea what happened but glad to be back - I love our group x
If it’s any consolation, FaceBook has been very glitchy for me the last few days, no notifications, not posting posts I’ve made ‘public’ and all sorts of weird things. The wonders of technology eh.
and now it is totally Glitched !!
Phew, not just me then. I can’t get onto FB at all.
Nor Instagram…
Major outage since 4.30 ish.
Always google is Facebook down if in doubt !

Yup they’ve crashed FB, IG and whatsapp (for some people).
I’ll just go back to my knitting then which doesn’t need a server.

It’s Back. While you are there Sasha… My daughter has a shop Mogdog designs and wants to set up a shop now link to her Folksy shop from her FB page. I already have one so can’t tell her how to do it from scratch. Can you still and if so how ?
She does also have her own basic website and suspect with that she can also do a Folksy catalogue on her FB page if she uses that somehow instead of her folksy url. Am I being silly

Thanks mum. Though Fb is still havin wobblies as it wouldnt let me reply to you! I’ll take a look at the widget and shop buttons tomorrow

I have discovered that if you had / have a Shop Now button . As I did … which goes directly to my Folksy shop… that is fine But . If you just once hit the Edit Button… then Shop Now vanishes For Ever. As it is not listed as an option. The good news is they there is a USe APp button which dies the same thing and allows you to assign your shop URL to it.
I had a notification of this today as well. I’ve just clicked to edit the button & there was an option right at the bottom of the list to add a web link. No idea if the algorithm will penalise me for using a link to here rather than my FB shop. But the FB shop just directs people here anyway so it shouldn’t make a difference - who knows with FB though?!
