Viewing shops and promoting

Hi - new on here and I’m feeling a bit disheartened reading how quiet sales are at the moment. I find it hard to view other shops and my friends will probably have difficulty seeing mine. I want to share my shop on FB but only seem to be able to share Folksy - not my shop!
Help!!
Karen

Hi, I put the widget link on my FB page (I have a separate FB page to showcase my Babyknits) and the link brings up several items I have for sale on Folksy. At the bottom right is a Folksy logo and if you click on that it takes you to your Folksy shop. Hope this helps. Good luck. Oh and I am quite new to Folksy and had my first sale a few days after my shop opened…real boost to my confidence about selling on Folksy!

Have you set up a Facebook page for your shop? You need to do that and then join some craft groups on Facebook. There are some Folksy ones like the Folksy sellers networking group and there are lots of others too. Just search for craft groups in the search bar on Facebook and you’ll find ones best suited to you. I find Facebook works really well for me. Don’t get disheartened- it takes a lot of hard work and patience to build up interest in your work. Stay enthusiastic and you’ll get there.

Hi Karen. Wishing you lots of success with your lovely shop. Have just tweeted one of your lovely harbour watercolours. Natasha x

To share your (or any shop) you need to copy the URL in the address bar at the top of your page, like this:
https://folksy.com/shops/MessageinaBottle

You can also add a “Shop Now” button on your Facebook Business Page (not the same as your own private profile).

I shared on FB and got my first sale! Thanks everyone. I definitely need to publicise more.

If you go onto your dashboard and click on shop appearance you’ll find a space at the bottom to put all the links to your social media, this will then give us clickable links at the bottom of your shop front if we want to go and follow you. You can also find lots of helpful tips on promoting on social media on the blog
