After our Instagram webinar earlier this year several of you asked for more hands-on help with creating reels. So we’re absolutely thrilled that Georgia will be running a series of monthly reels workshops for Folksy Plus members - starting tomorrow!

The idea is that these workshops will be really practical. We’ll give you a list of what to bring along each month, and Georgia will talk you through the process, so you leave the session with a reel ready to go. Each month will focus on a different aspect of creating videos for your social media, allowing you to expand your skills and build confidence as you go.⁠

For this first session, you will need:⁠
:heavy_check_mark: the product you want to capture⁠
:heavy_check_mark: your smartphone⁠
:heavy_check_mark: access to natural light and a table⁠
:heavy_check_mark: anything you need to show your product in use (eg matches for a candle)⁠
⁠
By the end of each session, you’ll either have⁠:⁠
:selfie:t2: a ready-to-use video for your socials⁠, or
:selfie:t2: the know-how to set up your workspace for filming on your own⁠

In this first session Georgia will cover all the basics, such as how to set up your camera, record a basic setup and post your reel this Tuesday 12th November at⁠ 11am⁠. As usual, you’ll find the link to sign up on your Plus dashboard - Folksy - Sign in on Folksy

This was SO useful - I have just managed to edit a reel for the first time and even add a musical soundtrack, I wouldn’t have had a clue without the workshop so thank you for organising this for us.
(One small point, folksyhq can’t be added as a collaborator to a reel with an added soundtrack, it says you don’t have access to Instagram Music?)

That’s really good to hear Lynn, and also super useful feedback. I think it’s because FolksyHQ is business account and there are rights issues with lots of the audios so we’re quite limited in what we can use. I’ll have a look and see if there’s anything we can do to change it.

We’re also going to set up a thread on here for sharing reels tips and we’ll write some advice in that about how and when to add us as collaborators on posts.

@folksycontent Just to ask again… is there any info about when the Top Sellers’ Q&A session synopsis will be available to Folksy Basic sellers? Thanks!

Can I just ask why is a Instagram lesson post put on Folksy HQ on social media, would this not be better on Folksy Clubhouse in private for F sellers only. Does not look professional letting customers know we need a lesson in how to post to Instagram.

Hi Camilla @folksycontent , I wasn’t able to join at the time, but like it happened with the Christmas one, I never got an email afterwards to watch it. I only have the original email to join the meeting, which I tried, but nothing happens. Will we get the link to watch the replay? I tried the events page but didn’t find it in there.

Hi Mina, the link to watch the replay is coming this week - sorry for the delay. Unfortunately because we ran the workshop as a meeting rather than a webinar, the automatic emails didn’t go afterwards as usual. However, if you send our support team an email, they’ll be able to send you the link for the catchup.
