Morning, Pearls. Good luck with the slugs, I’m afraid I stand no messing and just use slug pellets. I have tried all the other methods, though, but nothing worked as effectively as the pellets. As for the copper tape - what a waste of money for me as it didn’t stop them one little bit. Same with the crushed up egg shells. So after years of trying to do it humanely, I gave up and resorted to poison.
Here is a couple of relists and this first one is possibly my favourite picture
Two lovely sales to report Natalie @NOfkantsCurios, thanks to add to the tally.
Sorry not to have been around for the past couple of days, but just not had time for the t’internet!! Will probably manage to carry on until end of month, but might have to bow out of July as I just can’t do the promoting side justice and feel I’m letting people down. Besides which I have a weeks holiday arranged so would be missing out then.
Hope you’re all okay. Its a bit damp and grey in Lancashire today and hope it brightens up.
Annelee, hope those payments come through for you!
Well done Jane on your sales! Happy dancing for you!
Edwina, don’t forget to let us know how many sales via folksy you have had, you’re still a founding member of this challenge group, so your sales should count!!! So pleased your sale has done so well for you! It is so deserved!
Morning Pearls, it must have been the night for nightmares last night, @RedDevilCrafts I have been up since the wee hours too. Just a relist for me today please. Rachel
Morning - hope the slugs, snails & birds have behaved.
We get a lot of slugs here & I can never grow marigolds, they seem to be their favourites & they can eat a whole patch of them overnight.
The salt thing works, but you have to keep doing it - the slugs seem very good at hiding and as soon as you get rid of one there’s another ten to replace it.
Maureen @sewflair - your weekend sounds great - hope you enjoy it and get lots of interest in your work
Good morning Pearls, I hope you are all well? It a lovely cool day in Shropshire this morning, still no rain though
On the other hand I think my toffee eating was worth it! I didn’t see the black birds at all yesterday evening and I still have some raspberries and gooseberries this morning They haven’t even been to torment the poor cat which has been one of their favorite pastimes (when not eating my fruit!)
We use the copper tape for the slugs too, we even have it wrapped around the greenhouse and it seems to work well. It’s not as satisfying as melting them with salt (is that cruel?) but it takes less time. @Rozcraftz I love the giraffes!
I wish I could afford to buy some of the lovely things I see in this thread. All the kids are going to America for 8 weeks next month so you never know
I’ve just got a quick listing of one of the soaps I already make, I’ll be making some more quote soaps when my latest batch of clear base is cooked
Hi everyone, all clicked up to here, sorry I was awol yesterday, we took Ella swimming, I’m ashamed to say its her first time, we talked about taking her so many times and just didn’t do it, I’m not a lover of the water I’m afraid! She loved it though, so that’s good!
Have been trying all week too to get some more keyrings stamped but despite saying every single day this week that I wanted to do it I have been left holding the baby literally! I just wish the OH would give me just 10 minutes one evening so I can do something for myself, but in his opinion it would be pointless anyway because in his words “they will never sell!” nice support hubby!!!
Re the slugs its our hostas that suffer, the beer works but @ShropshireNaturalProducts Donna, equally the salt would work lol, bad girl! We had awful problems with our blackcurrants and redcurrants last year with caterpillars, luckily enough the birds aren’t brave enough to risk Ron Weasley, next doors cat, if it was just our lazy man about they could land on his head and he wouldn’t blink lol.
hahaha Ron Weasly I think thats a brilliant name for a cat! Is he ginger too? I tried the beer but only caught a million midges lol
My hubby is supportive but when I got good feedback for the insect repellant bars his response was “you mean to tell me they actually work?” Men! they are useless!
I hope you manage to get a few minuets for your keyrings.
Can anyone recommend how long after and order has been placed and polite email requesting payment has been sent that one wait before cancelling an order?
Annelee @annysgifts It’s normally 24 hours I think.
Natalie @NOfkantsCurios I have had 40 sales in total this month! That will give a nice boost to the tally. Never had that many, but sometime having a sale does work, not always though.
@MidnightStarDesigns I have a supportive husband like that but funnily enough whenever he wants a present for one of his friends he always turns to me for something “to buy” - sadly I have yet to see any of the money! - think he probably owes me about £100 by now!
Well done @Dawitchi Rene - I’ll keep my eyes open for it.
I’ve been busy this morning making a felt picture and I’m also part way through making a scarf but my arms are aching and I have run out of energy so thought I would take a 10 minute break. Never realised how energetic felting was!
