Knitters - whats 'links stitch'?

Knitters I need your input - I’m currently looking for a superfine knit to complete an outfit for a do and a possible I’ve found is described as being ‘circular knit in links stitch’. Circular knit I get, I’ve knitted in the round before, but I’ve never come across ‘links stitch’, is this the circular knitting equivalent of garter stitch? The photos look more like garter stitch than stocking stitch.
Cheers

Well, that sent me down a rabbit hole. This is the only thing I’ve found of any substance.

Thank you for looking, that stitch does look nice (brief ponder if I can get my mum to knit me some socks with that round the ankle…) but the knit I’m looking at looks much smoother than that. Any thoughts on how that stitch would look if knitted with a 2ply yarn at 10gg (I believe that’s a machine knitting abbreviation for 10 stitches per inch)? I’m starting to wonder if they have made up ‘links stitch’ to make some other stitch sound posher.

Are you a ravelry member? Someone there might know. I’ll have a dig through my reference books though. Might be an old name that’s no longer used. Or could it be a knitting machine stitch?

No I’m not - my own knitting skills don’t get much beyond doing the occasional (basic) hat/scarf combo and even then sizing it a bit hit or miss so I normally out source to my mum but she makes me buy anything super fine as her eyes aren’t up to it. She’s drawn a blank on this stitch and we do suspect its a machine knit term. If no one here has any ideas then I’ll investigate Ravelry.

Ha! Found it. Its garter stitch done using machine knitting!

You star! Mystery solved, thank you.

curtseys happy I could help!
