Thank you Caroline, you are a star! :slightly_smiling_face:

You are welcome Mina, just popped into my inbox.

I am going to add 1st class as an extra box as if stock.

Thank you so much

Thanks, Caroline! This is so helpful.

Using the variations? I would like to have this option, but I’m not keen in having variations on all items, it wouldn’t be very clear to an unfamiliar customer who might order multiple things what they are paying until the end. Unless I’m overthinking lol

Not using variations just adding for 1p plus the extra 99p for 1st class signed for. With an image stating postal upgrade. When done will show on here. Don’t like the variation as means have to pay commission on the postal bit.

Interesting to see how it will go. It might come useful for Christmas time as many end up shopping literally in the last minute!

Thank you Caroline. Really helpful.

On the postage upgrade point, does anyone use this currently and if so, is it something that is utilised by buyers? I’ve previously considered if offering a 1st class postage option would be beneficial and this has been a timely reminder.

I think there is another seller that does it this way but cannot remember who. I will put it at the very top of my listings and add another section for it again make it the first section they see. That way can offer several options.

Great idea.

Hi my standard postage is tracked 48 but in the options drop down I offer upgrade to tracked 24 and a signed for service, just add to my listings.

Customers do use the upgrade if they need an item fast and had good feedback for having the option.

Thank you Donna.

I object to paying Folksy commission on postage rates, why I do not use the variation option on a listing.

Thank you so much for the update. :slightly_smiling_face:

I use variations for postage upgrades quite often - sometimes it’s for other things too, like selecting a colour or adding personalisation, and sometime I use them purely for postage options. Here’s an example, don’t know if it helps:

Those who do use variations for postage, have you ever had clients who bought multiple items and opted for an upgrade on each one of them resulting to unreasonable charges? I rarely sell just one item and I have strong evidence that this will be the case for most of my sales

I don’t think I’ve ever faced that situation, sorry! I guess if you usually sell more than one item you’d be better off creating a specific listing in your shop as an add-on purchase? (although you may need to create various options on those, so that if someone orders a lot of something they don’t get undercharged… might take some working out depending on how your customers usually buy!)

Yeah, I am pretty sure that both options would be quite confusing. I know I have used upgrades, but I wouldn’t be looking for a separate listing and if I wasn’t familiar with how folksy works I would be quite sceptical of “buying” one. I also agree with Caroline @Caroleecrafts about the commission, so I guess it’s the right thing for me at the moment not to offer any.
