I am new to Folksy and very excited to start my journey. I love everything about arts and crafts and like to express my love for designs on cloth prints or mugs. Recently, I have discovered embroidery for myself and started out with hand embroidery on tote bags and more until I can afford an embroidery machine and be bold in the embroidery motives.
About a year ago, I had an Etsy shop, but after a few hundred in revenue, Etsy suspended my shop without further explanation. I read up that it happened to quite a few people. Back then, I had a job to focus on and let my passion dormant for a bit. Just a few months ago, the company I worked for went into insolvency, and now I am putting my energy into creativity to motivate myself every day. I am really excited for this path and hope Folksy will be a much more pleasant experience.
Thank you for stopping by and supporting my journey!
Warm wishes,
Mimo
Ps: I want to take this week to add more listings to my shop, so stop by again soon!
I have found Folksy to be really friendly, much much MUCH more so than “E” I havent had a sale yet here, but as I hadnt had any on “E” for ages either I’m still pleased to be here. I still keep my E shop going , as I promoted that so much for a long time, my most recent sale there was from someone I gave a business card to a couple of years ago and she had kept it! Hoping for sales on here so I can build my Folksy shop up some more. Wishing you all the best.
I’m new on Folksy too, just started up and trying to get to grips with promoting my work. Still not sure how I get people to follow me on social media and trying not to be discouraged by the talk of lack of sales. I’m loving the process so fingers crossed. Good luck
Hello other newbies! I’m completely new to selling and still trying to get to grips with the basics, and finding out that I’m no good at product photography! Once I’ve got that sussed I’m looking forward to making my first listings. Your pages look fab already!
Best wishes for your Folksy venture, I have just liked and followed you on FB and Instagram. I found all of the social media a huge learning curve even after 2 years on FB, I’m still learning. Your crochet work is just lovely, I can’t crochet for toffee lol I love all the knitted and crocheted work on Folksy.
Keep going, I’ve started renewing my photos as my first attempt wasn’t that good, I’ve set up a little photo studio in the spare room so no visitors allowed until I finish
I can absolutely relate to that! My ‘cheat’ solution is to take a product image with my pet, the muse of the shop, it turns out to be super cute every single time :D!
Haha, yeah that works! What a beautiful cat you have Unfortunately most of the photos I have with the cats in are action shots - earrings and necklaces fulfilling their second purpose as cat toys!
