I am not sure if there is an area for made to order items, so thought I would start a new thread.
I have not been doing well with sales and waiting for things to pick up before I start making new items and listing.
Is there a way to list made to order items in the shop?
Thanks
I made this wax melt yesterday for a friends daughter. It is made of soy wax lightly dyed green and scented seasonal blend. If anyone is interested please contact me through folksy. I can make other colours or scents depending on what I have available.
I do made to order items. List as normal add variations if applicable. Make it clear that these are made to order and take longer, remember to adjust the dispatch time.
Quite a few of my cards I make are made to order now and I tend to put âMade to orderâ in the title as well as in the description just to make sure for example:
I do a lot of custom orders/commissions, I write the listing with âReserved for xxxâ or âCustom order for xxxâ in the title and again as the first line of description. if they are having it made as a gift for someone I make the first photograph my logo so the bear or doll isnât on view.
I email the customer when it is ready to pay for.
I also have a couple of listings for custom orders, one for memory bears and a new one for pincushions, also a service of bear restorations in my shop if you want to have a look at how I have done mine.
Has anything been done about this category? It would be so useful as I list several âmade to orderâ items and donât really want to add âquantityâ as donât know how many orders I will get (if any).
Made to order it doesnât really matter how many you put in the qty (I see you are a plus seller) When Iâve done made to order I generally put 10. If I donât get 10 orders it doesnât matter, if I get more I just adjust the qty as it gets low.
I do personalised spoons, including ones for pet food! Would be good if we had a âmade to orderâ option when setting the date we made an item, as obviously if itâs made to order we havenât actually made it yet⌠Pet Food Spoon, Personalised Vintage Dessertspo... - Folksy
How DO you all get the photo to show up as well as the link, by the way? I canât see an image on my reply. Am I copying the link wrong or do I need to upload the photo separately?
Right click on the photo, then select âcopy image linkâ. You paste that on your reply and it will bring the photo.
If you want to add the box that says Folksy and it has a small pic with the description as well, all you need to do is to copy and paste the item number from the address bar (eg https://folksy.com/items/000000), or select the title of your item, right click, select âcopy link to highlightâ and paste it on your reply as well.
They will both appear on the preview, so you know itâs all gone well.
I hope it makes sense x
