yesterday I got a new laptop with windows 10…help…not easy for an oldie like me…However a kind friend set up google CHrome on the taskbar so I can access online sites…My biggest problem now will be photos…which have always been the bane of my life…
so my pictures might be looking a lot different until I find out how to doctor them…Obviously I don’t have any photoshop or anything like that so this is going to be a big learning curve for me…any EASY advice would be more than welcome…
I use this photo editor Brenda, it’s free and easy to use
I use picasa - also free and easy to use. I only use the crop and light adjustment functionalities not sure what else it does or you need.
thanks ladies…right now I cannot even find the pictures that we downloaded yesterday…it says that the picture folder is empty…yet I KNOW they are there somewhere as I clicked on something this morning and found them. Then they disappeared again . I also tried to put more pics on here but they didn’t download.
On a good note, my old laptop was working this morning, so as long as it doesn’t get overheated, I can do my listings, then shut it down and transfer to this new one for everything else.
Our pc friend said that I should take the laptop, camera , etc to him next week and we will go through what to do…lol.
At least I can still list and I am able to do my emails etc…so I am up and running.
I wish all pc’s used the same system, so that all you had to do was switch it on and GO !
Photographs tend to save themselves in the pictures folder. If you’ve been using Windows 7, they’re tough to find on Windows 8 or 10 if you don’t know how.
Hit the Windows key on your laptop and immediately type ‘my computer’. The first option shown will be ‘This PC’. Click on that and the pictures folder is in there. If you know the name of your photo, you can type that instead of ‘my computer’ and it will find it.
I got a new computer recently too and oh it was bit difficult getting used to it and it takes ages to update stuff so dont attempt to do it if you are needing to use the computer!
I have now found how to download the pics and even how to crop them…however, on here it seems to shuffle all the pics around. I always have TWO of every painting and even though they are downloaded next to each other…they are all over the place in the folder…
I have tried dragging them but that doesn’t work, so now after I have listed the item, I delete it so that at most I only have about 30 pics on here at any one time…I can always take the pics again if I need to.
I also have a “Picture Keeper!” that stores up to 16k pics, but right now I am scared to even try it…lol
I had a surprise last week after updating to windows 10 didn’t think about the photo editing so when I can to edit my photos it took a while to work out what to do.
Also I broke my daylight bulb so pictures didn’t turn out great.
