Thank you for highlighting this Steve @linthamdesigns. I don’t sell outside of the UK so hadn’t really taken much notice of the new EU regulations. Didn’t think of the NI perspective as I’ve only ever had 1 sale from there .
Just had a quick look at the changes. I already do much of the extra requirements for my toy makes, which have always had more stringent safety regulations than general products, so I could fairly easily expand to my whole range. But the digital passport and the appointed representative will be totally impractical for me.
I may drop an email to Folksy support. I’m sure they are sighted on it as I’ve read it was partly motivated to better control the unsafe tat sold on some online platforms.
As well as the need to separate shipping to NI, I’m thinking maybe a blog article would be helpful, covering the changes to the new EU regulations - as well as highlighting the current UK regulations for any sellers not yet aware they already apply to them.
Edit - just spotted the comment above from Lynn @LooneySpoons, who has already contacted support.
Oh no, what have they done in the last 2 hours. When I listed some scarves just a few hours ago everything was fine and showing “Europe - does not deliver here”, as I don’t ship to Europe due to packaging registration malarky but I just looked at one of my listings and it now shows a price in there which is the same as the “everywhere else” price but when I go to edit the item the Europe box is empty.
I’ve just let them know, didn’t think about screenshots, but gave good description that it is on the front facing to customers but not from back of house, in edit item mode the box is empty.
I have just had a look at one of my listings and yes it now shows Europe as £23 the same as USA etc, i don’t currently ship to Europe. Yesterday it showed it as ’ i don’t deliver’ @folksycontent
Ok, but because I have an amount in the US box anyway it is showing the usual amount there but put the Rest of the World amount in the Europe box. However, having just tried deleting the Rest of the World amount, it removes the amount from both the Rest of the World and the Europe boxes.
I just tried that on my listing but when i go to edit the box is actually blank. I was just reading the list of countries in the box, i don’t think they are all listed, Germany doesn’t show.
If you add P&P for Rest of World but don’t add P&P for the EU or USA & Canada, your listing will display a P&P price for the UK and then a postage cost for everywhere else in the world including the EU and the USA & Canada.
Thanks Carol, I never even thought of looking there! It seems the RoW box is working as intended, then…does this mean we really need a ‘rest of world but not the EU’ box? As well as a ‘UK but not NI’ box?
Lead times are very important to me because the bulk of my sales are made to order. Selling knitwear I couldn’t possibly keep everything in every size and every colour in stock to send out right away. Please don’t do away with lead times.
Before the changes were made this week mine had values in all boxes except for Europe which was left blank. Now Europe has £23 in it the same as the other internatìonals
It was actually better before. But when it was first changed mine looked ok and in the Europe box it said I didn’t deliver. Are they still working on this @Folksyadmin ?
