Okay a new month, some of us were brilliant last month the others were permanently on the naughty step, stuffing cakes, lol.
Change of rules slightly this month, as we should support each other. Supplies bought from other Folksy sellers does not count as a purchase. Neither does necessities to enable your craft such as glue, needles, etc. piles of balls of yarn is a supply purchase and extremely naughty.
I had to stock up on card blanks last month and ended up on the naughty step when I bought a stamp set. I definitely ate too much cake!
Not buying anything for the first 3 weeks did help me to clear 2 boxes from my stash though, some I used, some I sold, and some went to the charity shop.
Over the month 2 boxes down does feel like a bit of a win but I’ll try harder this month and see how many boxes I can clear when I don’t buy anything
I need to buy some zips & interfacing in order to carry on making, but I’m determined to not buy any more fabric! I could stock my own shop with what I already have so need to use it…
I confess, ordered a new journal today. I use journals to put down ideas etc. Have them going back years and good to revisit for ideas.
This is however not a supply as cannot make anything with it!
I can’t promise not to buy any supplies this month as am running really low on certain necessities, I don’t carry much stock anyway, but am happy to go on the naughty step and eat cake if I do slip up!
I also love the idea is being allowed to buy supplies from fellow Folksy sellers, anyone sell card blanks, biodegradable cello bags, coloured card or watercolour paint?
P.S no idea why I replied to your post Jennie, sorry. Its my age!
Not doing very well. Just submitted an order for a new soldering iron tip… can’t make stained glass without a properly working tip in my iron !!
Sorry !
My problem is that it isn’t just glass that I need… I need solder and copper foil and flux and glass glue and glass cleaner and fllux brushes and glass cutter oil…
and then there are envelopes and packaging – boxes and padding and chain and split rings and suction hooks and printer paper and printer ink and kiln paper and business cards and stanley knife blades and milllefiori and beads, At least I can make my own nuggets nowadays so that is a blessing
.
PS This list is very useful … must add it to a spreadsheet. I could give it to Bob to control as he used to be a purchasing manager at Xerox
I’ll keep the different types of glass off it though as sometimes I like to sneak some extra nice pieces in as a treat
Well I have to confess to being on the naughty step on more than one occasion last month. I think i have all my necessities now so this month should (and remember I said ‘should’ not will) be easy.
However, I don’t think i can possibly say no to sweets, cakes, chocolates, lollies, crisps or anything else nice (even though I do really need to lose half a stone before Whitby Goth at the end of April as my constant eating of the afore mentioned has meant my waistline has increased significantly) as well as not buying craft stuff. good luck everyone especially to the offenders amongst us, we can do it, just breathe gently and repeat ’ I will not buy nice craft stuff’ ’ I will not buy fabric’ I will not buy…
I managed to ping my veneer off last night eating a chocolate aero bubble of all things so that’s another incentive for me to stay off the sweet treats for a while too. I started the year well and manged to lose half a stone but had started to slide - that’ll teach me!
At least crafting helps with the diet, can’t eat and craft
I’m being good. Other than zips & interfacing, which I then added needles to so I got free postage. But these are necessities to make most of my items. No fabric purchased so far this month.
