No options to list a digital file as an instant download

I wrote my first crochet pattern, how do I list it on Folksy wondering? No digital file option here unlike another place I know.

Folksy doesn’t offer instant download and as they don’t they don’t have to worry about the new VAT rules on instant downloads.

I offer mine up as pdf files which I can attach to an email to a customer once they pay via paypal.

I do the same on a knitting forum I’m on where I sell a lot of my knitting pattern creations.

And big congratulations on writing your first crochet pattern

Thank you Eileen for that good to know :grinning:

Hi Teresa. I’m new to Folksy, been here literally just a few days, but I’m doing the same as Eileen and emailing pdfs. But in my case it’s Gift Voucher Certificates for custom portrait paintings… the principles the same. I do the same on my blog and other places. I try to go into quite a lot of detail in the description to explain to people how it works so people understand and are relaxed about the process. Hope this helps. Good luck with your crochet designs

Hi Bee, thank you. Gift vouchers sounds like a really good idea too!

What are the new VAt rules on instant downloads!!?

Ive been toying with teh idea of selling patterns, i was just going to email info as a jpeg. Are jpegs ok to send as pdf’s are a mystery to me.

For the rules, have a look here: VAT registration if you are selling digital goods

pdfs are better for written patterns, jpegs are better for images.

I have just listed my Afghan crochet pattern PDF
