Unfortunately its a common theme this year, especially since 2nd UK lockdown to now.

To be fair other providers are struggling as well.

Yes, Royal Mail are really struggling at the moment. Demand is much higher than usual because of the Covid crisis. On top of that, they are short-staffed due to Covid illness, staff having to self-isolate, and social-distancing restrictions in their facilities. Some deliveries are arriving in the usual time-frame but others are experiencing horrendous delays.

ā€¦yet from looking at their website youā€™d think any issues are minimal and localised and no sign of them amending their last posting dates

Exactly. Much as the hard work of the staff ā€˜on the groundā€™ is appreciated, I do wish Royal Mail would be honest about current delays. It would also help for our customers to have realistic expectations (although, I think most do). I am still waiting for a Folksy purchase sent on the 3rd. Luckily, I know that the seller has no control over this. I am still dreading the first complaint about non arrival of orders though!!:scream::grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I feel like i got lucky with this one and im going to resend the item as its one of the few i have duplactes of but most of my shop is one offs im going to ask that she give the spare set to a charity shop because she come across as a but of a karren and i feel like giving something away will annoy her

yep, RM are struggling, we are getting post literally once a week and if ive bought things from ebay that have been posted 10 days apart, i get everything on the same day! im in a semi-urban area with a regional depot half a mile away.

I think itā€™s a bit ā€˜hit and missā€™ with postal delays and not all routes are delayed. Last week I posted two packages of Christmas presents to family. One was sent Tracked 48 and took three days to arrive (Devon to Staffordshire), the second was a medium parcel sent Second Class Signed and arrived the following morning (Devon to Scotland).

Mine was posted registered post 8 days ago ā€¦ our mail goes to Carlisle from Newton Stewart to get sorted ā€¦ seemingly, they have so much mail waiting to be delivered (gosh thereā€™s a shock - it is the busiest time of the year! - and itā€™s taking THREE weeks to get through. Even with the 2mtr rule, youā€™d have thought that they could have a better system. A parcel from the States only took 14 days.

A quick update on the sale that made me start this poast would you belive the 40 minets after i resent the item and let her know the tracking the orignell package arived with her the woman in the poast office sed that its going to a ā€œdog roughā€ the kind of place that you drive through with the car does locked area in the naboring city and now i dont know if i should asume she was just trying to get a free bee or that that one package was just delayed

Iā€™m waiting for so many things, Christmas presents and supplies. I ordered cabochons 21st November, theyā€™ve been sent out again and I still donā€™t have them. One of my customers is complaining that she hasnā€™t received her order, and if I have to refund her, I canā€™t claim anything because I donā€™t go to the PO for proof of posting  Iā€™m quite relieved my sales have slowed right down  Never thought Iā€™d say this, but Iā€™m quite liking Hermes at the momentā€¦

Excellent , I like your thinking  sometimes people can be a bit impatient . I waited for a folksy order for 5 weeks ! I knew it would turn up eventually, and I knew if I said it hadnā€™t arrived i would end up with two which isnā€™t fair . I have mega patience though

I never used to get proof of posting, but I started to a month ago. I was selling more and more so I started worrying more :grimacing:. Iā€™ve shut up shop now as I ding think I could handle the stress of non arrivals ! And yes Hermes is my favourite at the moment , Iā€™m horrified to say :joy:

Difficult to say but I would have made her wait two weeks before I resent or refunded . Thatā€™s very frustrating for you

I had this recentlyā€¦ It turned up 5 days lateā€¦
Thereā€™s problems it seems with Royal mailā€¦

Iā€™ve been highlighting to those with delays that the post office doesnā€™t considering an item as missing until after 10 working days - thatā€™s about to run out on some of them so Iā€™m hoping the stuff turns up. Most items I only had one of, so only option will be to refund as no time to remake anyway. So I may even ask them if theyā€™re willing to give it a bit longer even after the 10 days - with a promise to of course refund if it still doesnā€™t show up.

ā€¦meant to say, in addition to the usual Xmas frenzy I think the auto email seeking feedback is prompting customers to chase up orders earlier than they might otherwise.
