I am reasonably new here and have yet to sell my first item. I’d like to ask a question if I may regarding selling paintings. I have sold a few from my own web site and find it extremely hard to find a reputable courier or delivery firm. Most all of them state that they will not accept any type of art work and I was just wondering how other artists deal with this.
hi Eileen, I’ve not particularly heard that there are problems with artwork- I know couriers often won’t accept glass because of the insurance coverage? I’ve used RM/Parcelforce ok…
Hi Eileen. I work in a local post office and we send out parcels from art shops all the time. Parcel Force have been the most reliable x
welcome to folksy…I now only stick to sending small paintings that fit in the postbox so I cannot help you with the posting. However, we have an art chat thread here on the forums. You are welcome to come and join us and show your work and chat x
I’ll probably still use Parcel Force as they seem more lenient with the list of things they will accept but they have let me down twice in the past. Both occasions I booked online and paid for packages to be collected and both times they never turned up. Both times it was at Christmas - last year and the year before so maybe that was the reason, but I had unhappy recipients. They were quick to refund my money though. In future I will take the packages to the local PO.
