September 2025 tags

What a pain, the theme of the day for national teddy bear day on 9th September is teddy_bear on the emailed list. Why the underscore or hyphen ? Or I am I seeing it wrong on my phone? Nobody is going to have it as a tag with a hyphen so we all have to change it but then afterwards change it back because nobody will use it as a search term. I thought the idea of TOTD was to have items included that fit the theme and were already tagged with that theme or changing as necessary to fit it which is great but having a hyphen makes no sense to me. Please correct me if it is only showing like this on my phone as I’m not on my usual device today. There are often times I don’t change tags for TOTD as it can be time consuming changing each one individually and I don’t always have the time, wouldn’t it be better to make it easier so more people join in or better still have the facility to do bulk editing on tags, that would save a huge amount of time for sellers.

I think it’s just your phone Debby - tag says teddy bear on my list.

Hi Debbie. It looks like that on my phone too - and I did give out a sigh!! But if you look on your dashboard, the tags are there but hyphen fee thankfully.

Looking at the list on my dashboard (via my phone) and there is no hyphen or underscore.

In the Folksy Seller News and Tips email which I received today and which includes the list of September tags, every tag which has more than one word has an underscore instead of a space ie ‘teddy underscore bear’ and ‘new underscore baby underscore present’. It’s an underscore not a hyphen. I am using a laptop. Hope this helps…

Ah yes, it was an underscore and was in the post in The Clubhouse on FB. I’ve mentioned to @Folksyadmin in the local captain’s group

I’ve just finished adding tags for September, took forever, especially as I realised half way through that there was an underscore so had to go back and change. Went off the list in the seller email.
So is it supposed to be without an underscore? With a space as usual? Thought I was saving myself a job by doing it today and was feeling proud of myself for ticking it off tomorrow’s to do list!

It has underscore on the email and on the Folksy Clubhouse Facebook, I agree, not good, sorry not happy with Folksy at the moment with these new updates that no one wanted…..:face_with_raised_eyebrow::face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Add them without the underscore - as it is on your dashboard. Folksy are aware of the issue now.

Hi everyone, thank you very much for all of your replies and for confirming it’s an error in my email and we don’t need to change them. I have to say if the underscore had been part of it I wouldn’t have bothered as it’s a lot of time wasted but yeah all is well.

sorry to hear you have already changed yours to include the hyphen Louise @thestitchyroom

@linthamdesigns thank you, apparantly it’s an error error I believe the list on our dashboard is the correct one.

Thanks Judy, I thought it was an underscore, then doubted myself so called it a hyphen lol.. I hadn’t realised all of those with more than one word had the same error.

At least now we know it shouldn’t be there, I think we can call it what we like!

I think Folksy should send an email admit the error so sellers don’t put the under score in, and also update the Facebook Post regarding this, not everyone comes on the forum, so are workingfrom the email or the face book post, so putting the under score in

This thread makes me glad that I had completely forgotten about the Theme of the Day tags – I think I’ll wait another day – too tired to go in and add them up tonight - my luck – I’ll add them incorrectly or Folksy will change how they look or something silly like that ?

Night all …

Thanks Debby - and thanks for starting the thread - I’d forgotten about the pesky underscores until you mentioned it!! Hopefully the confusion is cleared up now :crossed_fingers:

Lesson learned, don’t try and get ahead on your ‘To Do’ list as you just end up spending another hour re-doing the hour you were saving!
Now to top up my cuppa and change all the tags!
