Setting up my shop

Hello, after deciding for a while, I am about to set up my Folksy shop and was wondering can you change the description of your shop, what you sell, materials made from etc later?
Or does it all need to be done correctly first, still deciding on the exact items to list at the moment.
Sorry if this question has been asked before or if its an abvious answer.

Welcome to Folksy, Heather. You can call your shop anything you like, but be careful as your sign in name forms part of your shop address. I’m not sure if that makes sense? For example, I didn’t realise this and I signed up to Folksy with the user name lizdyson, but my shop is called The Little Bead Box, so my shop address is lizdyson.folksy.com - so nothing mentioning the name The Little Bead Box.

Hi Heatherlee,

Yes you can change all of the things mentioned as far as I know, through editing your items etc in your dashboard.

The Folksy dashboard is one of the easiest ones i’ve used. I’ve found it to be very user friendly in setting up my shop and people are always on hand in the forums to give you their advice. A very helpful lot.

I made the same mistake as you @lizdyson! If I’d known what I was doing at the time I would have made my shop name and my user name more or less the same. So that’s the one thing you can’t go back on @heatherlee. You can change you’re shop name whenever you like, but you’ll always be heatherlee! And you certainly don’t have to get everything right first time…

I didn’t realise you could change your shop name any time. Blimey. Always thought that we couldn’t.

Yeah, you can change your listings as much as you like, You can change the photos, the wording, the products and what type of things you sell.

It is possible to change your shop name at a later date, but the URL for the shop will always be the same.

For example, my shop is now called DeCumi Designs. I originally set up as JewelsOfYours so my URL will always be www.folksy.com/jewelsofyours. Unfortunatley the URL can’t be changed which I find disappointing.
