Show me your eco goodies!

(Hanna-Mae Williams) #1

A new thread to showcase your eco-friendly or environment-conscious items. I’m hoping to show some on my blog next blog =]
Here’s mine:

I could make these more eco friendly by using recycled/ eco silver but for now their eco credentials will have to be based on the fact that both fordite and bowlerite are materials that would have ended up in landfill if someone hadn’t had a brain wave that they would make interesting ‘stones’ for jewellery. Fordite is layers of car paint that built up on the walls in the old spray booths at car plants whilst bowlerite is made from old 10 pin bowling balls when they are too dented for bowling.

This lovely 1980’s Collier /Campbell fabric was lying on top of a skip on my Mums street! My little heart skipped a beat.I recognise that pattern I thought. With a good wash it perked up, and I’ve made and sold lots of lovely items from its recycled goodness.

All our candles and wax melts are created using natural soya wax. Our candles are presented in recyclable aluminium tins and finished with a wooden wick. We also use recycled boxes and popcorn in our packaging. Although we are by no means carbon-neutral, we try to be as environmentally friendly as possible.

I decided to cut up an old oak TV stand after failing to sell it on a second hand forum.
The other option was to take it to the dump.
I think I have found the best solution in making these keytags which I am able to personalise to your individual requirements
