I usually have to stick to a budget, when I see something I like I click on the link, then my heart sinks when its way over my budget. I think Id much rather see how much it is straight away.
When you add your link to social media places do you make the price clear at the first port of call or not bother?
I don’t on my social media or website as I’m using that as a marketing tool rather than as a selling platform. Social media will also reduce your reach if you put a price in your post (I do put the link to the item in my Folksy shop in the comments instead).
Facebook limits the exposure of posts it thinks are acting as advertisements so I avoid doing anything that it might think of as advertising such as using £ or using the word ‘shop’, ‘sale’ in my posts. (but then my social media is very soft sell rather than in your face ‘buy this now’ as I find that off putting)
Interesting, thanks.
I don’t put the price on my Facebook posts, just the link to the listing here. One good reason for that is that FB don’t like anything commercial in posts so showing a price is likely to very much reduce your reach.
Edit… Thanks Sasha got there before me. xx
I didn’t realise that FB restricts posts, that’s good to know, thanks
Thank you for raising this topic, really interesting to hear about FB reaction to £ signs, will now go and re jig my page. Cheers x
Sometimes I do put the price in, usually when on IG. My FB is dead so I don’t post there much. I have used IG to promote, it’s cheaper than FB.
