I don’t do a stock take as such as I don’t have a huge amount of things for sale but I do keep a bear and doll register and each one has a number, dob, sale date etc next to it, I also do double entry books so record everything I buy and sell in there as I order/sell so I always know I am spending too much lol, that comes from working in an accounts office for years I think and a habit…I’ve never done a stock take of my materials etc and wouldn’t know where to start now as my cupboards, room are full and I expect all of my profit is still sat on shelves waiting to be made, if I sold it all I would be very wealthy
