Summer Exhibition

I Love your paintngs Chris and am just sorry that my walls are so full already that the spiders can walk from one piece to another without bothering with webs

Thank you Joy, that’s very kind of you to say so.

Bearing in mind the limitations of the stats… I can tell that the item included in the fringe is definitely generating interest in my shop - lots of views and likes on that specific item in a continuing steady trickle. Much harder to tell what effect the main festival is having as that leads to my shop front rather than an item but my views are up. I know Folksy said they would rehang the exhibition (I am a long way down in that so when the rehang happens and i move up I might start seeing more of an impact on views etc) don’t know if it’s possible to rehang the fringe since it is a gift guide.

That was why I suggested earlier it could be a front page feature like folksy favourites as they rotate.
I also realised I can still pull proper stats up on GA.

I have an item currently close to the bottom of the main exhibition, which isn’t in my shop and my 7 day item visits have steadily increased to almost 3 times the usual but as of yesterday, this was starting to drop off.

I also have an item in the Fringe which is on the last page.

My exhibition piece is a wrap and whilst some of the item visits are to my knit and crochet pieces, they’ve really been a big old mix. My Fringe item is a project bag and that’s had views and favourites.

Interestingly, the sources for my item visits are mostly under ā€˜direct’ with ā€˜folksy’ a close 2nd. Under shop visits, almost all are from Folksy, as you’d expect given that my exhibition piece isn’t for sale (and maybe this is why so many item visits are shown as direct - exhibition viewers come into the shop and hit items from there?).

All in all, I’m super grateful to have been included and applaud Folksy for the event - it’s something I hope they’ll do every year and I’m now wracking my brain to come up with better shots of my pieces (my wrap photo was by a professional photographer at an actual wedding and I was delighted when she gave me permission to use it!).

Looking forward to reading about other people’s experiences and would just add that I saw and bought a piece from the Fringe the day it was launched! I actually felt bad buying it as it’d take it out of the show, but had to have it! :hugs:

I think the items in the fringe are rotating Joy as my item is never in the same place and for me on my iPhone, your lovely Waterlily suncatcher has been on the first page every time I visited so it’s definitely been noticed!

The Summer Exhibition rehang is live! Hopefully you’ll find something you didn’t spot before. Buy and sell handmade gifts and craft supplies from Folksy - Modern British Craft

Clicking an item shown in the exhibition doesn’t take me that particular item, but to the shop. So now I have to browse through the entire shop to find it. If it is in the shop.
It’s not a bad idea to look at all the items of a seller, but shouldn’t a potential buyer go straight to the item they clicked on first?

The exhibition invited applications to include already sold pieces/ commissions/ not for sale pieces so in some cases the item in the photo won’t be in the shop so it can’t link directly to it in the same way the fringe does.

I should add that when I go to the Fringe collection, then I do get directly to the item I click on.

The Summer exhibition has been crazy for my Foxes (the piece that was featured). I made a big batch and they all sold out in one evening and I’ve got a waiting list for more already. Thanks for the promotion Folksy! Camilla @folksycontent

Hi All

I love the exhibition plus the fringe. Unfortunately, I did not apply. My husbandand and i have had a horrendous couple of months due to a family crisis. However, my views have increased and I have made some good sales so far this month.

I just wanted to say well done everyone who was selected for the event and well done Folksy staff. Hopefully, I will be able to stop worrying and concentrate on the future very soon.

I was in the Fringe but have had 14 sales so far this month, a happy bunny. I also think E…y behaviour has helped as a lot of new customers.

I am a bit surprised that my Water Lily which is in the Fringe disappears every now and then, I noticed it had gone the other day, commented here to say so and next time I looked it was back. I see it has gone awol again. I know that I am on holiday but I really don’t see why my exhibit is not showing like this.
There are shops in the Exhibition which are in holiday mode and featured sellers too. So if anyone comes across my missing Water Lily please can you nudge it back into the Fringe.

And there it is, back again this morning. Where Has it been ??

I noticed this when I was doing boards on IG - I’d go to check I had the right maker’s name for the photos I’d selected, and realise that some of them had gone! (The photos, not the makers…)
