Sunny here too. Nice to see after all the rain. I expect the fields will still be very muddy underfoot though when I take the dogs out.

Been at work this morning and got to take daughter shopping this afternoon but just received some more supplies in the post so maybe some crafting this evening.

Dawn, @hobbitgirl - unless you have a very good camera and are good at photography I would steer clear of black or red. Black is very difficult to get to be properly black (just like white!) and I find red always tends to become overexposed and take over the whole picture. Personally I would go for a pale colour, pink, pale blue or pale green maybe or even light grey or cream.

Don’t know if this would be any use Dawn @hobbitgirlie1880, but I’ve used a leftover piece of laminate flooring, some old slates from when my roof was fixed and some broken bits of tile that I got cheap at Homebase for photographing white/silver jewellery. Oh, and cork boards as well.

today we have the rain that others had yesterday and they have our sunshine

I was thinking of getting some nice tiles. My brother in law is bathroom and kitchen fitter so I would pinch them off him
It is easy to photograph jewellery on tiles?

Hello Folksy Gang,
I have been asked by Camilla @folksycontent, to stop the these daily threads of natterings and limit them to a weekly thread instead, as too many new threads can make the forum hard to navigate. So if for the rest of the week we can use this Weathering Wednesday one, then on Monday we can start a new weekly thread for all our ramblings. Name of new thread to be decided, but Weekly Natterings 24/8 could be a good starting point.

Dawn @hobbitgirlie1880 as far as tiles goes, my best was a shiny marble effect one in beige colours. The only problem that I had was if I needed to use flash you could see the reflection. Slates worked better as they were a matt surface. If you’ve got access to loads, try a selection of bland colours in matt and gloss until you find what you like. I now keep a pile on my table with the white paper that I usually use on top so I can whip it off and use tiles if it’s not working for me.

Hi everyone, well, it’s absolutely pouring with rain here in Berkshire, yuk. Nevermind it might be great tomorrow!
Today I haven’t managed to do anything creative as we have all the floorboards up for new heating pipes.
Have a great evening everyone.

Tina

Well we had sunshine yesterday and then torrential rain in the evening - not too sure what today will bring, I think its still undecided, dry at the moment but no sign of the big yellow ball!

Woke up this morning to find teenage daughter asleep on sofa with TV still on - I guess she never made it to bed then!

Not too sure what today holds, I’m not working so I expect I’ll end up making something, just not too sure what yet

Bit damp and grey here at the moment, but it’s supposed to get a bit brighter later. I’ve been up since 6, let the hens out and put a load of washing on. Off to let the rabbit out and give her some breakfast, then out for a walk with the dogs. Once the pets are sorted, I might get some crafting done.

Mornin '
As I was putting the washing out the 40% chance of light rain the met office forcast descended! BUT it is still breezier than wet, so we will see. Made everyone the morning cuppa and am looking at shop stats etc.
Then off shopping with daughter, we are going to a fantastic junk shop and next door a brilliant fabric store, well there are two actually, so I have a few pennies and I will see what I can spend them on, can’t wait. May lead to a whole new line of ideas, need some inspiration for Christmas.
Let you all know later,
Suzzie x

Good morning,

Grey but might brighten up here (Derbyshire). So far, I’ve fed the cat, managed to sneak back upstairs and grab my chair before he came up, then he decided that instead of going for the bed, he would jump on my desk and head for the open window! Fortunately I’d tidied the desk last night, so there wasn’t the usual collection of bits of wire everywhere, and I grabbed him before he could climb out. He went off in a sulk, but is now fast asleep, looking innocent on HIS bed.

Good morning all,
Warm and cloudy here in Shropshire today. The met office app says it’s not going to rain, but I’m unconvinced! So I think the laundry can wait
Today I’m going to embroider OH a new Manchester United Hi-viz vest for work. His old one is looking a bit tatty now :expressionless:
After that as he’s working late today I may start on some bigger Christmas projects and maybe some more cushion covers. They take forever to do as they have to be watched the whole time and stitched slowly so the wrong bits don’t get under the needle and get stitched together :frowning:
Rhiannon @RhiannonRoseJewellery Both my cats kicked me out of bed this morning lol They are both cuddled up in there now looking very cute and innocent.
Hang on I’ll take a photo

Lazy animals lol The one on the right is Maiya and the other is her son Bear (yes that tiny kitten I was osting photo’s of last summer
I hope you all have a good day

Well good news bad news really. Had a lovely day shopping with daughter, we went to the junk shop and saw some amazing upcycled stools, but unfortunately at upcycled prices! So now looking for the 1940s square stool every household had until just recently! Went to the fantastic fabric shop, but there was just too much choice, so having stroked every roll of beautiful fabric we left the shop with a sample! See where this is leading, we didnt buy anything, even the coffee and cake was free with the JLP vouchers!! Hubby would say good result, but for us failure!!!
So I guess its back to the grind stone and I will have to get the knitting out and finish what I am doing, but I will go back on my own next month on the old dears village bus!!

Lol Suzzie @thistledownandHOPE, that sounds so like me!
We had an eventful day. Both cats were in this morning, so we decided to take them to the vets for their annual check up. It all went fine up to the point where we both had hold of a cat and they were both refusing to get into their baskets. OH managed to get his in and secured, but my little baby had to be put in and zipped up by both of us. They were beautifully behaved at the vet’s though! Having done the weekly shop this afternoon, I finally got round to a photo session, so I shall be listing later.

What is it about cats? Mine is kinda in disgrace, on wet Tuesday eve, he managed to slinky milinky through a gap in the bathroom window, soaking wet, to jump onto the new towels that were hanging over the end of the bath, which then slid off depositing him on the floor. Okay, whats so disgraceful about that, well the towels I bought for No1 sons girlfriend, at the beginning of the summer holidays as she seems to spend time here, are now torn as whilst he was obviously trying his hardest to maintain any dignity, the claws came out, and the rest is history, needless to say I have a large mending job to do!!!
Then there are the fleas…caught from the mice he regularly catches and leaves at each door step as little sorry presents …mmmmm but for every flea there is 4 Fleas, magic.
But we still love him, why does that happen?

Glad to have you back on board Kelly @tagpress
However I am really sad to hear your new house isnt all you dreamed it would be, but at least if you are in the area you have a better chance of finding bigger without so much stress as before, and as every situation has a silver lining, your mornings will be blissful without motorbike boy next door, acting as your alarm call.
But enough chitter chatter, must get the needles out and work,

OH and Daughter are both much better thank you Kelly @tagpress
Have you had any thought about where you’re going to move to? Will you be staying in the same area or trying somewhere new?

Thanks Suzzie @thistledownandHOPE. You’ll laugh because I think the biker followed me, either that or Rhiannon’s @RhiannonRoseJewellery neighbour did! I woke to it the morning after moving and it was 4.50am, couldn’t believe it!

I’m glad both you’re OH & Daughter are doing well Donna @RedDragonDesigns. What’s happening with the ironing board covers? Are you going to make them for you’re shop or have you discarded the idea?

Megan @SoSewMegan, I hope you’re well and had some news from you’re appointment? And you too with you’re upcoming surgery Dawn @hobbitgirlie1880. x
