What are you reading?

Have you seen the Lemony Snicket film - A Series of Unfortunate Events? It’s truly amazing!! My children at school love it. My own book at the moment is Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern - a really unusual book. I’m dying to find out what happens at the end. Martine x

I’m reading Some kind of fairytale by Joyce Graham. It’s not a book or author if heard of before it was recommended to me and I’m loving it. Fantasy fiction, which isn’t normaly my thing…

Yeah, was absolutely gutted that he died. When I grow up, I want to be a Culture Mind.

At present reading every free download off the internet on how to put up a greenhouse!

Note of caution - do not buy a second hand greenhouse, go and dis-mantle it, let it sit in the garage for a month and then try and remember how it all goes back together… it’s been a very long weekend… :wine_glass: …need one of these…

I’m reading a Phillipa Gregory book… The White Princess. I’ve read the previous 4 in the series and still get confused with all the ‘Elizabeths’, ‘Edwards’, and ‘Richards’.

Culture Minds are definitely the way to go.
Although I always fancied being a Special Contacts Drone!

They do tend to be rather deliciously bloodthirsty, don’t they?

Last book I read was Jane Eyre.
Absolutely loved and couldn’t put it down.
Then I bought the DVD!

I’ve loved Jane Eyre since I was a teenager. I never tire of it and must have read it a dozen times or more.

Yes, Jane Eyre is in my top five favourite books. I got my daughter to read it last year when she was 15 and it’s one of her faves now too.

I finished My Sister’s Keeper last night and was so disappointed with the convenient ending.

Ooh so many good recommendations, will definitely be adding a lot to my list of books to read

I am currently reading a few books (silly habit of mine!). Working my way through the Game of Thrones books by George R.R. Martin, The House of Hades by Rick Riordan and The World According to Bob by James Bowen  so good

Gosh, that just show how many books are “out there”!
I’m reading a Book Club choice - a sort of intelligent time travel novel - The Little Book by Selden Edwards. Quite interesting but not quite compelling.

The Black Dagger Brotherhood Series . . . . all about yummy vampires and I am totally addicted . . . would defo make more jewellery if these books were not so good!

Well I’ve finished Gone Girl and agree with Amanda, I expected more too. Going to try The Quarry by Iain Banks next.

Oh i love to read, it is my escape from real life  i recently started reading Dorothy must Die and i must say i am really enjoying it. It is not something i would usually choose as i go for the vampire, werewolf, shadow hunter :stuck_out_tongue: type of books but this has turned out to be a really good read. Also found another which is a alternative take on Beauty and the beast i think which no doubt i will give a go next.

I have the night circus on my kindle, i haven’t got around to it yet i must give get to it soon. Also 23 years old and still watch a series if unfortunate events on a regular basis  great film and book series.

I have just finished Arthur & George by Julian Barnes, which I enjoyed very much. On the kindle I recently read Dinosaurs and Prime Numbers by Tom Moran. This was a wacky and very funny book. I really did laugh out loud. Both of these books were very different to my usual murder mysteries. Lots of good recommendations on here, that I am going to have to try. Jane Eyre, I really should read again. It’s a long time since I did!

The last book I managed to finish without losing the book was Agatha Christie’s The Blue Train.
I’m a bit annoyed as I’ve been given a four books written by the American Maggie Sefton which are mysterious with a twist as they involve knitting. I started one and I’ve gone and left it someplace. I still have the other 3 to read and another Christie to read. I don’t get much time to read at the moment. So I’ve no idea when I’ll get them finished.

Sarah, I just didn’t care about any of the characters in Gone Girl. I’m sure they wouldn’t care about anyone but themselves if they were real!

I know Amanda, and I was really miffed by the ending, it seemed ludicrous to me. There’s a film coming out and apparently the ending is going to be different.

I’ve started reading Coalescent by Stephen Baxter, which I bought from the library for 30p, it’s quite intriguing so far.
