What has irritated you today

Close call, and also glad the tire didn’t have a proper blow out elsewhere (like doing 70mph on the highway) …

Having to go to the vet to pay for (I’m sorry I’m going to say this) pts for my boy Bailey. He injured his cruciate ligament last November. Possibly slipped on sisters rubbish she has around the sofa (told her time and time again to move it). She refuses to help me in anyway.

Fast forward to Sunday the 16 February- he slipped on the new rubbish she had stacked up and again was in pain on his other leg.

I didn’t think anything of sister taking Bailey to vet. As I knew he would be back home. She rang me from vets and said due to the leg being another cruciate ligament damage it. The vet recommended he be pts.

So my little boy is no longer with us due to sisters stupidity and laziness not picking her rubbish off the floor as normal people do. He was only 9 years old.

And then sister slipped on her rubbish last night. And she knew then it was all her fault.

.
So back to the vets again to pay the bill. And another trip back to the pet crematorium to pick Bailey up.

Oh, how sad. The tear must have been severe as CL is not something that is usually bad enough for a dog to be pts. All you can do is remember how much love you gave him and what a good life he had with you. What a beautiful darling boy.

That’s so sad and sounds a really drastic measure.
Just hold on to the memories.

That is uncalled for, Joy was only trying to help and point out that you are competing also with other knitters on here, who have prices that people are prepared to pay.

My husband bought me a pure wool knitted hat at Christmas from a local maker, the hat had intricate Aran knitting, ear flaps and the usual Scandi ties. £30 but due to the detail she sells hundreds each year. 1 colour £30, more colours with intricate patterns £40.
She can knit a hat in an hour whatever the detail.

Never doubt the knowledge of experienced sellers

I do not charge for my time as would make my prices unreasonable. I do include the costs of supplies, threads etc plus profit. Have had 41 sales so far this year and very happy. My customers keep coming back, am in a niche market and OOAK’s.

I did not compare your handmade things to Amazon . I was very careful to word my comment so it did not do that. I simply suggested you check your prices .

Note I did a google search. I could just have easily have said Tesco, Pets at home or Temu as they all came up in my search results as selling knitted dogs jackets.
I was price checking (as you had queried your pricing !) Not handmade checking as to be honest not sure if a dog would care if its jumper is handknitted or not :)~

And to be equally honest your comment has irritated me very much indeed. If you ask for help then you need to accept the advice given without sneakily complaining about it on another thread .

I think your prices are reasonable. About the same I charge for my crochet hats.

Oh that’s reassuring!!!
Gonna check your hats out too

Thank you x

Your hats are stunning and so intricate, in fact a work of art. I would pay £30 upwards for one of those. Never seen anything like them, truly unique

Indeed as I was trying to advise it is a really good idea when setting up a new business to do some price comparisons. Maddie’s hats are £10 or £15. Intricate works of art from an established shop with a great customer record.
The other hats in question, however lovely, are £20. Correction… £25.

My hats are mostly using a cheaper yarn, hence the price. I have merino hats that are selling for £28 to £35 in other places. So, when a natural yarn is used it’s often very expensive to buy in the first place. In fact, natural wool is very expensive these days. It’s a bit like the dichroic glass compared to plain old muffle.

What has irritated me today? The lining of the bag I am making. Just will not all line up properly! It’s not that that is the most irritating as whenever I make something there is always one part I end up doing over and over again. It is just that with this bag I made SO much extra effort with the measuring etc as I went along and it still causes problems! Why did I bother? Given up for now. Not to worry, it will get there in the end, but I had so hoped to get it finished and listed today. We are busy tomorrow and over the weekend so it will be Monday before I face it again.
