What has irritated you today

Not at all, just a different point of view is all.
Can’t see why you would be upset or angry by what was said

Well I wasnt upset or angry, just irritated as the thread heading says! Just a difference of opinion…

Disparaging comments made by people who have no idea what others have experienced in their lifetime.

My Mum going through yet another mental health crisis and expecting me to be able to find the magic answer to make her feel ok again when this has been going on, on a loop for the past 50 years. No therapist or combination of drugs has been able to ease her mental anguish, so nothing I say at this point is going to be the eureka moment for her. I’m irritated, exhausted and feeling guilty for being so annoyed! Also running around for everyone else in my house that are grown adults (apart from Mr DP as he’s recovering from an operation so I’ll let him off). Hmm….sorry, my irritation turned into a great big moan!

What disparaging comment(s) have been made?

Also, why are you mentioning people’s life experiences? This has absolutely nothing to do with what"s being discussed. As far as I’m aware we are allowed in this country to express on opinion. How you read/interpet comments made is up to you.

In fact this country is ‘considered’ not ‘are’ a nation of animals lovers. I’m sure the 10million animals who have been hurt/neglected in this country would not agree with the original statement.

Sending hugs Sarah. Sorry about your Mum but you also have to look after yourself as you are no good to anyone else ill.

Have you ever had the traumatic experience of seeing a family member’s pet cow bleed to death after accidentally partially decapitating itself on a barbed wire fence? I’m going to assume not.

Being upset by seeing an animal’s head mounted on a wall, be it real or faux, is not an opinion. It’s a fact. People’s views, emotions, and opinions are usually shaped by their life experiences.

You are absolutely right that we are allowed to express an opinion in this country. An opinion was expressed and you disparaged it by labelling it absurd. Is it only your opinion that is allowed to be expressed?

Other opinions have been expressed from people that like the heads, but I’ve not insulted those people nor labelled their opinions as absurd.

In fact, I complimented the maker on her obvious high level of skills, and suggested she make other items as well.

No need to reply.

I’m now irritated by someone crashing into our car when it was parked in a car park. She was trying to park her huge car in the spot next to us and bashed the rear bumper. Luckily, my husband was sitting in it at the time! The woman driving it just said ‘oh, I’ve never had an accident before’ and then walked off while hubby was looking for a pen to take down her details… :weary:

Oh so sorry Kim, we have loads of those round here, down narrow lanes, never break as they have right of way.

Thank you Caroline @Caroleecrafts and Sarah @dotterypottery

We have the details of the car and photos of the damage to both cars, plus we were parked right by a security camera in the car park. I was in M & S when it happened, but hubby wasn’t up to it so stayed in the car. Hubby’s spoken to the insurance company and they are sorting it. They have arranged for a local garage to look at it on Wednesday.

I think these tanks expect one to breathe in when they are around, lol. Talking of tanks did meet one once, it promptly swerved and tipped into a ditch. Do not think the army were happy with the driver.

The problem with bigger cars is smaller parking spots. I don’t have a blue badge (yet) as I can walk too far for the test but getting in and out of the car in a normal spot is a nightmare as you can never open the door wide enough for dodgy legs … Fortunately we have a reasonably high up car… a Kia which we changed to so we could tow the caravan…which helps. We had an Audi A3 a few years ago, it was so much lower down and an elderly friend (Much older than me  ) got stuck in the back… We had to pop her out like a cork.

People with small cars seem to have trouble too. This afternoon I witnessed a chap in a little Yaris hit a car while trying to park in a fairly wide space. He got the front of his car into the spot but forgot (or doesn’t understand) that the tighter your turn circle, the tighter you turn, and he clipped the bumper of the adjacent car with his rear wheel arch. He then reversed out and shuttled back and forth several times to reverse into an opposite space in the row that didn’t have any cars either side of it. Luckily he was moving at snail’s pace so no damage to either car.

The problem with small cars is they are lower down and people can’t see out… That was the other problem with the A3. Where we live there are pretty well single track roads with high hedges either side. Not everyone knows that some of the bends are totally blind …So much safer in the Kia

Plus you cannot always see them when reversing.

What has irritated me today is that I went back to work yesterday after being on leave all of last week. That’s it.

I’d much rather be a stay at home dog mom – why doesn’t that job pay my bills as well ???

I wiped out a front tyre yesterday by hitting a kerb too fast as I parked outside my house. Expected my husband to go into moan fest but he conceded the car needed four new tyres anyway so I got off with that one!
