What to do when crafting equipment breaks

who has a piece of crafting equipment they use that if broken would cause you problems?

As to day I went to get on with knitting something for my shop only to find the bamboo point on the end of my in the round knitting needle has snapped off. How, I don’t know as it was fine when I put it away on sunday.

I know have to order and wait for another one to arrive.

I have always kept more than one full set of straight knitting needles and I have 4 sets of crochet hooks, 2 sets of Tunisian crochet hooks, and 3 sewing machines but for some reason I only appear to have one set of in the round knitting needles sets grrrrr

oh well off to ebay.

Ooh how annoying! :disappointed: I guess mine would be my sewing machine. I have spare needles but if anything else went wrong with it I’d be in a bit of a pickle.

Mine would be my embroidery machine. They are hugely expensive! I could just about afford to replace my sewing machine or overlocker if I had to but I live in fear of the embroidery machine going wrong :scream:

I’ve ordered one single cable in the round needle and a complete set of them as well so I’ll now have 2 complete sets. Oh yes and you get different lengths of cable between the 2 bamboo ends. So I’ve also ordered as another set for the other size

So I’ll have 2 complete sets which are 60cm long and 2 complete sets which are 40cm long. when this order arrives.

The frustrating thing is buying one single cabled in the round knitting needle cost only a few pennies less than buying a whole set of 18 :open_mouth: ( one whole set contains 18 cable in the round needles)

Yikes about the embroidery machine I bet you will be following the servicing and cleaning, oiling etc programme very closely. As you don’t want it down for weeks on end.

I do Eileen, it is probably the most pampered machine ever lol
I’m glad you managed to replace your needles. I hope they don’t take too long to arrive

Thanks Donna :). I hope they arrive quickly as I’m just about managing using 4 double pointed needles to knit this pair of gloves in the round. I don’t really like using them as I work much slower and often end up sticking the needles ends into me and dropping one of the needles on the floor
I’m just clumsy I guess :open_mouth:

Lol I always admire those who can knit, I’ve never been able to master it :expressionless: if it was me there’d probably be needles stuck in the ceiling and all sorts lol
