Your next new skill?

Our local sewing and patchwork shop has a lacemaking club, that meets a couple of times a month. They do beginners’ courses too.
We had a lace club at school - our lovely sewing teacher started it and I learned to make Torchon, Beds and Bucks lace - and also my own lace pillow!
Good luck with your ambition!

Ooo… edit, just to add - the teacher made her own wedding veil. She made beautiful lace motifs, in Honiton lace, which she stitched onto gauzey stuff for the veil - gorgeous!

Oh I have definitely learned something new

Over the past 3 months I have been learning how to make soft hand-sewn traditional lampshades

Just finished a special revamp of a pair of old tired -looking

Here’s a sneek peak (but will share properly on my FB page & on my blog)
