A Folksy baking gift guide before this year's GBBO final?

Hi

While I have only just started on Folksy (basically two or so days ago) I am interested in the gift guide proposition offered by Folksy

However, I am not sure whether Folksy are asking us - makers - that we come up with relevant themes for gift guides, but if that is the case, and with this year’s Great British Bake-Off show ending by the end of October, it may be an idea to create a gift guide related to all things baking to be published by mid October or shortly thereafter.

What does the forum things?

If such guide would be put under consideration, it would definitely stimulate me to list substantial more items at my shop at https://folksy.com/shops/TheSpeculaasSpiceCompany which currently only covers one item

Folksy choose who and what goes in the Gift guides, so it’s about getting noticed by them.
They will use various criteria to pick, but generally you need good photo’s, a well written description and your ‘about me’ and ‘buying from me’ sections completed.
I would suggest adding more items to your shop too so that they can see some commitment to Folksy, but also to give customers a choice when landing on your shop.
Occasionally Folksy will post on here asking for items for gift guides and they will take their pick from the posts.

Thank you for your email, Kim

I haven’t noticed the ‘buying from me’ section; may I ask you where I could find that?

By the way have you had an opportunity to look at my Folksy shop at: https://folksy.com/shops/TheSpeculaasSpiceCompany - I have just added second item. What do you think? What can I improve?

What would you say is the minimum number of items listed so that Folksy regards it that I have committed to them. Obviously I don’t want to spend a lot of money listing lots of items if I don’t get noticed by Folksy nor get any sales.

I appreciate your feedback!

Steven

For the benefit of Folksy makers interested in this topic, here is Folksy’s reply with regards to being included in any of their gift guides:

"Hi Steven

No, we (Folksy) create the Gift Guides and we add things to them periodically."

and

" We send our newsletter out on a weekly basis to customers. The themes vary depending on the season and what we’ve curated in our gift guides.

The gift guides are manually curated by the Folksy team. We select a variety of different things to include and review them and add to them daily."

and

“Yes we create themed newsletters and gift guides to promote the work of our sellers. Our newsletter is sent to over 50,000 subscribers by email. We also have a Facebook following of over 63,000 people so we have a wide reach.”
