Add Tracking number to order/invoice

I use Royal Mail tracked and signed now because I have been burned in the past from a customer saying It never arrived. I print and pay for a label at home which makes it easier at the post office, for some reason I can’t see the tracking number on the order. Does anyone know about this, you would think it would be on the paypal receipt or even on the Folksy order. Surely I don’t have to keep sending the number separately?

If your cusomer has paid via paypal you can buy postage through paypal or just add the tracking number on your paypal dashboard which should then let the customer know the tracking number. There is no where on the folksy dashboard for you to add tracking numbers associated with orders.

I just email the tracking number but then I don’t sell much so it’s not time consuming. I imagine if you’ve got multiple orders it could be though.

I always send a message/email telling customers when and where I posted the item and I include the tracking number - it’s a nice personal touch. However, not all items are ‘tracked and signed’ only the more expensive ‘originals’ - cheaper items under £10.00 go untracked - if any go astray I can easily replace the item at little cost.

I have just discovered this. I am migrating away from Etsy! I agree with Fififoxi that I can send an email to the customer but this will be time consuming and having the tracking number with the order will make life easier when clients enquire about their order/delivery. I am sure the customer will also return to their order to find the tracking info rather than search through their emails.
