Apologies if this has been asked before, I couldn’t find an answer. Are we able to add Alt text to our listing images? If we can I have missed how and where to add it. Thanks.
I don’t think there is a way to add Alt text to your images, I just did a search on this forum for it , there are a couple of threads related to this and other SEO options, basically Folksy renames your images when you upload them, it takes it from the item title and your shop name, so make sure you have filled in the title on the listing page before uploading your photos.
Thanks, I do name all my photos for SEO so that is helpful to know that Folksy takes the information provided.
No, this is not the info Folksy uses unfortunately. As Steve said, Folksy changes the name once you upload your picture. It replaces it with a very long set of nonsense characters, followed by a very long set of also nonsense numbers, followed by the title you have used on your listing plus your shop name, regardless of what you have named your picture file.
For example this is the name my coaster picture has got https: // imagedelivery.net/0ObHXyjKhN5YJrtuYFSvjQ/i-e900d2bb86def65bfd36639bb2ebec73-daisy-crochet-coasters-set-of-2-handmade-coasters-in-currant-plum-the-sloths-cavern/display
Okay, thank you for the info.
