Art Chat 16th to 22nd November

Ahh Max, sorry you have to work on such a horrible day!
That’s so many Brenda, good luck with that!

It’s a really horrible day today, on the plus side, I sold my first ACEO the other day, by someone local, they’ve asked if I can drop it off in the shop that sell my work in the local town, so that’s where I’m off today. I was hoping to re photograph stuff for Folksy, but it s a bit dark.

Here’s a new image, from my darker side.

Thank you so much for helping…giving it a go now…if it doesn’t work, it’s an otter!!!

The otter’s still drying, so it hasn’t been trimmed! Badger nearly finished and, if I may, I’ll share that one too! Hope this works…not very good with techy things…

Evening everyone, it’s always good to come on here and see everyone’s fab work. I particularly like Lowri’s jam (made me chuckle in a dark way) and Serena/Isabella’s otter is super.

Welcome back Kelly :raising_hand: I missed you. Have you been away?

Morning everyone, I’m popping in for a quick break to give my back a rest - framing for my art club’s Christmas exhibition is a real chore. It’s funny because I quite like making frames for my miniatures but framing big pieces is a nightmare…specks of dust seem to materialise out of nowhere inbetween putting the piece in the frame (no specks) and taping up the back (big blue bits of fluff appear). Grrrr! I feel much better for that rant, you lot rock :joy:

No Stephanie, I haven’t been away. But I feel like getting away from this awful weather though! lol

Brenda I thought you might be interested in these arty socks from a professional knitting angle. I’ve just bought the pattern, will be buying some wool at some point (probably after Xmas) in lots of colours. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/anelmaiset

congratulations Max! It’s good to get rewards for all your hard work.

I’ve finally taken some pictures of the artworks I bought at the Alsager Art Exhibition. The flash ruins them, but you get the idea.

First I bought this one from an artist called Linda Chippendale. It’s 6 inches square and cost only £5!

This is also one of Linda’s, 7.5 inches square, also only £5. I said to the organisers that she should charge much more than that

This next one is by Y M Szkwara and is 11 x 8 ins, double mounted, only £20!

I love them all and they are bargains as well. Can’t wait for their next exhibition in February!

I agree, it’s so annoying.

Good morning, they are all lovely Margaret, my favourite is the top one, can’t believe the artist is actually making any income that would barely cover the costs! but what a bargain for you

back to Worle today and I have to be there for early meeting, back later to catch up. have a lovely day everyone

Thanks Max, I’m certain they’re not making any income at all from this. It’s an art club where people paint for a hobby but put on exhibitions now and then. There was a room full of bargains, great fun for me and a confidence boost for the artists when they sell one

They’re all lovely Margaret. You’re absolutely right about the confidence boost, you’ll bring a real smile to the whole club by buying one or two pieces.

ha ha Stephie…lots of work in those…and believe it or not, I think they are horrid…rofl…not my thing at all…can’t imagine why anyone would actually wear them…lol…each to their own I suppose…

wow Margaret you certainly got some bargains there…and great work too.
You will have to buy a bigger house soon to contain all your paintings!
Well done on passing your exams Max, the thought of studying fills me with horror…
