I’ve listed some pencils I do in the Homewere: Office: Everything Else category because there isn’t a category for pencils/writing tools in either Office or Stationery. I don’t think they should go in Supplies as they’re a finished product to use or gift as you like.
So my question is, is the Office category the right one? I’ve seen a few gorgeous pencils on here also in that category so it’s the one I went for in the end, but I feel like ‘everything else’ is a bit vague - and my pencils aren’t really being noticed, although they sell ridiculously well on another site I’m on (the, er, big one).
The first place I’d look for handmade pens/pencils probably would be stationery, but then when I look at the subcategories there’s nowhere they’d fit and it all just looks to be paper goods rather than tools. Then I’d look for another suitable category and office would be my next choice, although looking in homeware doesn’t really feel as logical to me (and yes it’d have to be everything else because none of the other subcategories making me think writing tools).
Although you don’t think supplies really fits, there is a subcategory there for handmade pens, so if you have multiple pencil listings I would try putting a couple in there as some people might look there first. I know pens isn’t exactly perfect for pencils… but it certainly seems the most relevant subcategory there is.
