Hello – I just thought I ought to let people know that there will be a change to how ‘sold items’ are calculated for shop views, today.
Currently, the figure is just a count of items in every order that was ever generated for your shop, whether it was successfully paid for or not, allowing for faster page-load times.
With the upcoming change, this figure will be more accurate as it will only count successfully paid-for orders.
This will also make the figure on your shop page more in keeping with what you see on your stats pages. There will be a slight lag, however, as the figure for the shop page is calculated each night, whereas the dashboard shows real-time figures.
We’ll be pushing the changes later today.
Thanks,
Doug.
Thanks Doug. I think it won’t affect mine as the odd one which gets ‘Paypal stuck’ with payment problems I always Paypal invoice then mark as sold.
Hope it doesn’t knock those off as I am chasing a magical 4000 which I don’t think I can make this side of the New Year but my customers are really really doing their best for me. Like Santa’s grotto in Joysofglass at the moment.
@JOYSofGLASS Hopefully for any sales like that you will have marked them as paid, and once you’ve done that they’ll be viewed as any other order and be counted in the number.
If anyone never paid, hopefully you’d have already deleted the sale so they’d already have been removed from the number.
I just had a quick skim through both of your pages and didn’t spot an unpaid order amongst them, so hopefully neither of your numbers should be affected.
Thanks Kim. I honestly have so very few issues with my orders. Had two paypal 'disconnections ’ in last few weeks but at really busy times when I think Paypal just thought about it for too long. Sending a Paypal invoice straight away works every time
I know it does as the first of the two problem ‘customers’ came back for more a week later
@dougfolksy I am puzzled. On the 13th I was showing 3915 sold items… I am still only showing 3915 but sold 1 piece on the 14th and 4 more today.15th… has it stopped updating. It often runs one order behind but never known it take so long to catch up.
I do often take note of the count as i can quickly see if a sale has popped in ? xx
ps. It has updated overnight. Don’t think it used to do that ?
Thanks Kim. I had got used to it not reflecting a sale immediately but this time it threw me as it first of all must have gone down one (must have been a sale somewhere I forgot to mark as paid from 5 years ago or maybe 10 :)) and then didn’t show yesterdays so for 2 days I seemed to be on the same figure It;'s only cos I’m chasing my magic 4000… I’m working very very hard to get there
