Closing my shop - having a sale!

Hi everyone,

I’m sad to say I will be closing my shop in a month’s time. I’ve always found it difficult promoting my work and have never been too successful with my shop, and mixed in with some health struggles and hopefully a house move soon it feels the right time to do it. I’ll be keeping my account at least for now so may pop onto here once in a while, and I’ll keep my social media accounts for now too.

I’m having a sale these last few weeks, hoping to clear out some of my cards before I close. If anyone has any recommendations for what I can do with those I don’t sell please let me know! I’ve sent some to Post Pals before (a charity where you can send cards and small gifts to sick children) but mine aren’t really suitable. I’d rather donate them all together than be writing in them and posting them if anyone has any ideas.

With two new arrivals expected in the family shortly I have snaffled two of your lovely cards just now!
It’s a shame you have to close your shop but sometimes life has other plans for us. Good luck with everything.

That’s such a shame Caroline, your cards are lovely. I completely understand your difficulties with promoting your shop, it’s a job I absolutely hate and I don’t really understand if I’m honest but I try!
Thinking about how to donate your cards I wonder if there is a charity hospice or similar where you could donate them and they could sell the cards with proceeds to go to the charity? Just a thought.

Thank you Hilary. I’ve never enjoyed being on social media (I don’t even have personal accounts for it), so one positive is not having to think about that anymore!
That’s a good idea about donating them, you’ve reminded me there is a local one that has fairs throughout the year so I will look into them to see if they’d like them.

Hi all,

Just wanted to say it’s one week until I’ll be closing, on the 5th April. All my cards are half price still for this final week. I’ve got lots of heart cards, some new baby cards, one new home card and just a few other random cards too. Thank you to those who have purchased some already, it’s made me very happy!
